MODULE III: Automated Street Lights and Motion based
lights.
To develop streetlights which will work only in night and motion-based lights for homes.

1. Automated Street Lights

 How will it work?

LDR sensor is used for detecting the
presence of surrounding light so that during
the daytime sun is bright the streetlight is
switched off automatically. During the
nighttime when there is no light, the LDR

sends signal to
microcontroller to turn on the streetlight.

 Components Required
 (1.) LED - 3V x1
 (2.) Battery clipper x1
 (3.) Battery - 9V x1
 (4.) LDR sensor x1
 (5.) Transistor - BC547 x1
 (6.) Resistor - 20K/33K ohm x1
2. Motion based Lights

 How will it work?

Motion sensor lights use passive infrared (PIR) sensors to detect the
presence of people and animals. The PIR detector is attached to outside
lights and picks up body heat and motion. When both are present, the
detector triggers a power switch to turn on the lights.

Hardware Required

 Arduino Uno
 PIR Motion Sensor
 Relay 5V
 NPN Transistor BC548
 Resistor 1K ohm
 Breadboard
