We thank you for this new day, Lord.

Help us to embrace all that it may hold for us.
To hear the birdsong, and have new melodies in our hearts.
To see the sunrise and create beauty with our hands.
To touch the leaves that grow afresh,
And allow your love to touch our hearts.
To smell the fragrance of the flowers
And breathe in the wonder of your creation.
To dwell on the beauty of our world,
And study and fathom your miracles.
To enjoy the conversations we have and the lessons we go to,
May we drink in all the goodness you have for us.

9 Ways in which we Organize our Perceptions:
1. Proximity- grouping nearby elements together
2. Similarity- grouping similar elements together
3. Symmetry- grouping elements according to symmetry
4. Closure- mentally filling in the gaps to create one enclosed object
5. Continuity- visually following an object in its implied path
6. Common Fate- grouping together elements that are going in the same
direction
7. Common Region- elements that are enclosed together and are perceived as a
group
8. Figure & Ground- perceiving the object (figure) separate from its surroundings
(ground)
9. Good Figure/Pragnanz- organizing the elements of an object in the simplest
way
Emergence - ability to perceive a whole
without first noticing its parts
Reification - the mind's ability to fill in an
implied shape
