The present perfect tense is a tense that
shows an action or situation that started in the
past and is still ongoing today

PERFECT TENSE :
to describe an action that started in the past and continued in the
present. Example : She has played badminton for thirty minutes. (She
still plays)
to describe an experience performed during a period of time and not
finished yet. Example: The salesperson has sold six units of refrigerator
this week. (The week is not over yet)
to describe a repeated activity in a period of time between the past and
the present. Example: I have been to the store eight times.

In the present perfect tense, we can use 'for' to
state the duration of the action and 'since' to
state the starting point of the action.
Examples:
Nana has lived with her mother since she was at
elementary school.
Jeno has lived with him father for five years.
NOTE
In the present perfect tense, we can use unspecific
expressions (ever, never, once, many times, already, yet,
etc.)
Examples :
Valen has never been to Palembang.
Miranda has already got her driver's license.
Has the study started yet?

In the simple past tense, we use past verbs (V2), such
as spent, went, and prepared. The verb 'prepared' is
called a regular verb, while irregular verbs. 'spent' and
'went are irregular verb.
'was' and 'were' are 'to be' in the simple past tense
We use the simple past tense to express events that occurred or
ended in the past. It is related to specific time expressions: definite
time (yesterday, last week, last night) and indefinite time (the other
day, ages ago, a moment ago).
