1. Write a narrative paragraph using the following prompt.

Think about your high school life, and the things you used to do. Write a story about the days,
months and years you spent with your teachers, classmates, and friends.
. Life through high school is an extraordinary feeling of every teenager that's goes through it. People
say that high school s the most exciting and happiest moments on a student's life. I actually didn't
believe that before because I was in high school and doing many assignments and projects. I hated
doing those because it took away the time that I suppose to be having fun. When I became a senior in
high school that's when I started to think that I guess those people were right. My parents to started
to asked me about college and my plans after high school. I used to tell them "later" because I didn't
want to face the fact that I'm growing up. High school is a world where you no longer be treated as a
child. This is the time when girls start to wear make up and boys turns into men. My high school life
wasn't always fun. I remembered those days that stayed up late to study for exams, tests and quizzes
and writing research papers. It was also the time to meet new friends and build a friendship and
shared laughter, cried together and had our moments. My teacher has a big influence in my life. One
day I was sitting in my math class, feeling bored and sleepy, when my teacher, Mr. .Ahmed woke me
up by his words. He told us his story aboutmath and how his life changed after he changed his way of
thinking. He also told us that he used to hate math, but he became good at math after he decided to
like it. From that moment, I decided to adopt my teacher`s attitude, and I learned to be open-minded,
flexible in my life and positive about math.

2. Describing Places

- Write a paragraph describing a beautiful location you have been to at some time, entitled
"My Favorite Place" (don’t forget using descriptive words, adjectives, mood, feeling,)
My Grandparents’ House One favorite place from my childhood that I remember is my
grandparents' house. My grandparents’ House is also the perfect vacation spot. I have many
wonderful childhood memories of all the fun activities my family and I did there. To begin, it has a
marvelous location. My grandparents' house is in D. The house is very near to the beach: For that
reason you can smell the ocean as soon as you walk outside. It is surrounded by beautiful palm
trees and a huge back yard with a pool looking right out to the Gulf of Mexico. You can sometime
see flamingos in the distance. Theirs a view from all of the windows, you can see as far as the eye
will let u see. Also, my sisters and I could usually see the dolphins in the early morning from the
windows. My grandparents always planned a lot of activities to keep us busy. We would usually go
to the beach every morning play in the warm Gulf of Mexico water. I could walk out a mile and
would only reach my waste. We played a lot of board games staying up half the night playing
scramble or canasta. When the weather cooled some night we would go to the bad yard and bbq
and sit buy the fire pit. I remember one year we all piled in the car and drove three hours to
Universal studios. The Beach near my grandparents’ house is amazing. It is though you’re in your
own tropical Island. As soon as I get on the beach it feels all of my obligations are suddenly erased.
It is usually a perfect 75 degrees. I’m taken in by the soothing atmosphere u can sit all day under
umbrella and soak up the sun. The sounds of the ocean comfort me. The ocean is crystal blue and
once you’re in it feels like bath water. The white sand goes on for miles with a few palm trees
blowing in the wind. We would sometimes sit there and watch the sunset it is amazing to watch
the sky lights up fiery pink. The nights on the beach are always warm and come alive with music,
people and dancing. This beautiful beach location and my grandparent’s home left indelible marks
in my minds. The amusing time that we passed there is unforgettable the love and childhood
excitement of going their every summer is priceless. I know get to share this experience with my
children to make new magical memories. My grandparents' house was in my memory as the most
favorite place that visited during my childhood and now as adult, to me the perfect vacation spot.
3. Argumentative

Choose one of the topics and write argumentative paragraph.

1) The grading system shouldn’t exist to judge a student’s abilities/not

2) Hard work isn’t enough for being successful in a student’s life.

3) Social media has destroyed real life time communication.

Social media has destroyed real life communication. Do you agree or disagree? Agree. In
recent years, there has been a rise with the usage of social media. Social media is a tool that
helps us gain information at a quick speed, as well as it being an effective communication
platform for all. Some well-known social media are Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok,
and so on. Although social media has brought many benefits to humankind, there is no
denying that it has also destroyed real life communication. Hence, this essay seeks to
discuss the ways that social media has destroyed real life communication. One of the
reasons why I agree that social media has destroyed real life communication is that
children who heavily use social media are unable to develop social and communication
skills. During the adolescent years, it is extremely important to ensure that the human
brain develops in all ways; however, the extreme usage of social media hinders that growth,
especially with their social and communication skills. This is largely because children come
to be accustomed to online communication style whereby, they do not need to respond to
everything in the moment, and can take a long period of time to articulate their responses.
This might not seem like a big issue, but if children do not break said communication style,
it will give them a big disadvantage in the real world as their brains will not be able to
think fast in real life situations. Besides communication skills, it hinders their ability to
socialize as well because children are not taught how to behave on social media. For
example, many children might comment hateful words on another person’s post, thinking
that it is normal since there are many on social media who do the same as them. This
means that children are unable to grow up with a clear understanding of how one socialises
in a healthy manner and they will become irresponsible in their behaviour as well. The
result of a child who is unable to develop their social and communication skills is that they
will have less confidence; they will find it difficult to interact with people in real life
because they spend a big chunk of their time on social media rather than interacting,
focusing, and building their in-person relationships. Hence, these children will grow up to
be overly shy, and find eye contact to be incredibly uncomfortable. With that said, social
media no doubt harms children’s ability to build and maintain real life connection.

In conclusion, social media has shattered real life communication through hindering the
growth of children’s social and communication skills as well as it has harmed real life
relationships. Even though social media has strengthened the relationship among the
people from different places but it has caused us to not form deeper connections. In my
opinion, there should be a balance of online and real-life communication; parents should
control and limit the usage of social media in their child.
