AN ANALYSIS OF EDUCATIONAL VALUES IN “SPIDERMAN 2” MOVIE

ABSTRACT: Movie, also known as a film, is one of types in visual communication. It


shows the moving pictures that tell a story in a cinema or on television. In this way,
language learning will become more enjoyablebecause movie is not only as interesting
media in learning but also it can be introduced for the people with educational values.Then,
watching movie can help to develop people's motivations in learning English. This
research is entitled “An Analysis of Educational Values in “Spiderman 2” Movie”. The aim
of this research is to find and describe the educational values in Spiderman 2 movie.
Spiderman 2 was directed by Sam Raimi in 2004, it was written by Alvin Sargent from a
story by Alfred Gough, Miles Millar, and Michael Chabon. It told about a man who named
Peter Parker, he was journalist who bitten by a genetically engineered super spider on his
hand so that he became a super hero and people called him “Spiderman”. The writer used
descriptive method in doing this research. In collecting the data, the writer used two
sources, those were primary and secondary sources. The result of research showed that
there were ten educational values in Spiderman 2 movie, there weresupport, optimist,
bravery, never give up, respect, care, confident, motivation, responsibility, and sacrifice.
