Communication and Collaboration Comments: Tiffany has been practicing her verbal and non-verbal communication skills with her client, as well as participants in the Social Connections group. She has been challenged to monitor the use of open/closed ended questions and how to optimize social interaction with a client who is challenged by social situations. She has demonstrated an awareness of how to create written educational materials tailored to client need. Tiffany is able to document using SOAP note format, with minimal feedback required. Tiffany has been working in collaboration with an OTA student peer in the first half of placement; this has been an effective partnership. She has also collaborated with workplace managers/supervisors to support her client in the workplace. In the second half of placement, Tiffany will transition to sole OTA student with a new client. Tiffany demonstrates highly effective communication skills. She demonstrates an ability to use verbal communication to guide her client’s towards (I) and use silence to support processing time and (I) action. Tiffany continues to appreciate the multiple learning strengths of her clients, creating useful resources to support growth.
