Meeting: When two or more than two people meet, it is called a meeting.
Types of Meetings
Informal Meeting: When you meet your friends or relatives without any officialpurpose,
then it is called an informal meeting.
Formal Meeting: When there is a meeting to achieve a certain goal or purpose and
discussions are focused on the same, then it is called a formal meeting.
External Meeting: When employees meet to discuss a certain objective with people
from outside, such as clients, customers, contractors, suppliers, etc. then it is called an
external meeting.
Sentences:
Is it going to be an internal meeting? - Kya yeh ek internal meeting hone wali hai?
Is there any dress code for the meeting? - Kya meeting ke liye koi dress code hai?
(Dress code matlab koi instruction ki kya dress pehenni hai.)
Note: If there is an external meeting, try dressing up in a suit, tie or blazer to be more
appealing.
1. Project Kick-off Meeting: Kick-off means starting a project meeting. This meeting
helps the entire team decide the project timelines and assignments.
2. Status Meeting: This meeting takes place to discuss the status of an ongoing
project, so that the challenges, if any, can be resolved, and the team stays updated. It
is also called team meeting or team huddle.
3. Brainstorming Meeting: A meeting that takes place to find new ideas or create
business strategies related to a project so that team members can share their ideas
and finalize it.
4. War-Room Meeting: This meeting takes place when a problem occurs suddenly, like
customer complaints, any team member falling sick, etc. In this meeting, the entire
team focuses on finding a solution to fix the problem.
5. Senior Management Meeting: A meeting that only has the senior management
members to make important business decisions. Usually this meeting takes place
once a month or once a quarter (once in three months).
6.One-on-One Meeting: A type of meeting that takes place between you and your
boss to discuss your performance, give feedback and ask questions, if any. Usually
this meeting takes place once a month or weekly. 7.Skip Level Meeting: It means
skipping a level, which means your manager’s manager, will have a meeting with you
to collect feedback on your manager’s behaviour or working style.
8.All Hands / Town Hall Meeting: A meeting in which all the employees of an
organization participate and are informed about the progress, goals and recognize the
best employees by giving awards.
10. Team Building Meetings: This includes team activities, playing games etc. These
kinds of meetings help employees improve bonding through various activities or team
outings.
1.In-Person Meeting: When you meet someone in person, then it is called In-person
meeting.
2.Web Meeting: Online meeting is also known as web meeting, which happens on a
laptop/desktop/smartphone, etc. by using online platforms like Zoom, Google Meet,
GoToMeeting, Join.Me, Webex, etc.
3.Phone Meeting: It is a meeting where without using any online software, we have a
meeting with the other person on a phone call.
4.Conference Call: When there is a phone meeting between more than two people
using the “conference” feature on your phone, then it is called a conference call.
