AREA:
The pilotage area is divided into 2 sections:
(1) From No. 1 Lt buoy (1°46′·93S 43°50′·77W) to No. 19 Lt buoy (2°27′·64S 44°22′·17W). Pilotage is optional in this
area and shall be ordered in advance.
(2) From No. 19 Lt buoy to the port and terminals. Pilotage is compulsory in this area.

PROCEDURE:
(1) Pilotage is compulsory from No. 19 Lt buoy and should be arranged through the agent giving at least 24h and 4h
notice of ETA and 2h notice of ETD.
(2) Pilot boards in the following positions:
(a) 2°26′·00S 44°20′·60W, for vessels of over 100 000 dwt, or over 11m draught
(b) 2°28′·90S 44°22′·20W, for vessels of 11m or less draught
(c) 2°31′·50S 44°23′·10W (Disembarkation)

NOTE:
Provides pilotage for ALUMAR and PONTA DA MADEIRA TERMINAL.
