Ejercicio 3. El metabolismo en las Biociencias

Cell death, a subject that we have been dealing

with for approximately more than 50 years, is a
topic that has been rarely addressed in biology
courses due to its specialized nature. This topic is
important because it involves cellular events and
situations related to biochemical processes. In cell
death, there are changes in the appearance and
removal of dead cells and fragments. The expert
Resumen en studies apoptosis, a form of cell death discovered
ingles entre 250 in the 1970s by Kerr, which causes morphological
y 500 palabras changes similar to leaf fall. The expert classifies
cell death into two groups. Accidental cell death
occurs when cells are subjected to physical
assaults such as high pressure, temperature, and
osmotic forces, as well as extreme chemical and
mechanical disturbances, resulting in their
instantaneous and catastrophic destruction. Later,
he details how programmed cell death works,
which molecular processes can be altered through
pharmacological or genetic methods. Regulation of
cell death is vital to maintaining cell stability at
both a functional and chemical level. There is a
form of cell death that is regulated by a series of
mechanisms activated by molecular signals that
cause this kind of death. It is called regulated cell
death. Destruction of DNA can lead to cell death.
When the nucleic acid suffers extensive damage,
the cell receives signals to start the death process.
There may also be pathological cell death due to
damage to the protein degradation system, which
can cause oxidative stress, excessive generation of
debris, or damaged proteins within the cell,
ultimately leading to cell death. As apoptosis
occurs, certain changes in the shape and structure
of the cell can be detected. Among them is a
decrease in size, followed by compaction and
displacement of the nucleus towards the cell
surface.
