Abstract

When Leticia was in school, she received many comments about what she wanted to study because
she was an immigrant and a woman, today she is a great scientist, and she is analyzing samples to
investigate the biological impacts of racism and other experiences in marginalized communities.

She had a hard time getting to where she is. There were people who tried to make her change her
mind when she was at the University (Stanford), since they did not believe that she had the potential
to be a scientist, during the student years she was the one best of her.

Discussion

When he became a scientist, he wanted to change things, but he realized that he could not trust
anyone with his dreams, he believed that he could change the world and although he keeps trying,
he has realized that it cannot be that way. They should not catalog people by their appearance,
gender, or origin, we should all have the same opportunities to study, and otherwise we will do and
work something that makes us feel useless for the rest of our lives.
