Four more Covid-19 deaths as number of


confirmed cases nears 1,000
Four more deaths of patients infected with Covid-19 recorded Monday; 146 test positive, lifting total number
of confirmed cases to 966.

he government confirmed 146 new cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus on Monday evening, lifting
Argentina's total to 966.

In addition, the death of four individuals – all of whom tested positive for Covid-19 – was confirmed by the
Health Ministry in its daily report. A total of 24 fatalities have now been recorded from the virus, which has
now infected some 723,000 globally.

The deceased are two men from Buenos Aires Province, aged 67 and 58; a 77-year-old woman from Tucumán
Province; and a 68-year-old woman from Neuquén Province.

"[A total of]146 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed today. With these records, it adds up to 966 positive
[diagnoses] in the country," said the statement from the Health Ministry.

"Of these cases, 50.6 percent are imported," it added.


Of the new cases, officials said 36 were recorded in Buenos Aires Province, 34 in Buenos Aires City, 12 in
Chaco Province, 21 in Santa Fe, 8 in Córdoba, 11 in Tierra del Fuego, 10 in Corrientes, 3 in Entre Ríos, 3 in
Mendoza and 8 in Neuquén.

To date, the highest number of infections has been recorded in Buenos Aires Province (292), Buenos aires
City (253), and Santa Fe Province (111). The regions of Córdoba and Chaco have both recorded 81 positives.

Of the total number of cases, 58 percent are male. The most affected age range corresponds to those aged
between 20 and 59 years old, with the average age of a patient as 43 years.

"The authorities are continuing intensive measures to reduce the circulation of the virus to the country and
decrease its transmission," the Health Ministry said in a statement.
