The Imperative
To make recommendations or give advice to someone, I can use the Imperative:
"Verb (Stem)".
Examples: 1. Show your work to other people. Listen to their advice.
2. Don’t ask for a lot of money at your first job.
I can use the Imperative to give instructions (as in cooking recipes, for example).
Examples: 1. Add sugar and milk, then mix for 5 minutes.
2. Don’t use cold water.
NOTE: To form the negative, I use "Do not/ Don't + Verb (Stem)"
، الدعوى،❖ صيغة األمر هي أفعال تستخدم في بداية الجمل اما تكون في اإلثبات لتعبر عن التعليمات
.اإلشارات والمالحظات أو إخبار شخص ماذا يفعل
➢ The Imperatives uses the simple form of the verb such as: walk, read,
open,….etc.
.❖ تستخدم صيغة األمر الصيغة البسيطة للفعل أي التصريف األول
examples - أمثلة
-If they listen to family advice, children will grow into responsibility.
) في هذا المثال ( لو عندي وقت سأزورك.نستخدم هذا النوع إذا كان الشرط و النتيجة المتوقعة قابلين للتحقيق
الشرط و النتيجة قابلين للتحقيق
Example: If I have time [Simple Present] , I 'll visit you. [Simple Future]
نالحظ أن الفعل في الجزء الذي يبتدأ بif في المضارع البسيط * و الفعل في الجزء الثاني في المستفبل
* يمكننا أن نعكس مواقع الجزء األول و الجزء الثاني و يبقى المعنى هو نفسه فنقول
Eg: I 'll visit you [Simple Future], If I have time [Simple Present]
➢ To express likes or dislikes, I can use: the verb (like; dislike; love; hate;
enjoy; prefer) + "Stem + ing".
