Elizabeth II, born Elizabeth Alexandra Mary on April 21, 1926 in

London, UK, and died on September 8, 2022 at Balmoral Castle,


Scotland, is Queen of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth
Kingdoms. Elizabeth II was Queen for 70 years, the longest reign by a
monarch in the history of the United Kingdom. She is also head of the
Church of England.

Elizabeth became Queen on February 6, 1952, the day her father King
George VI died. She was 25 at the time. A year later, she was made
Queen at Westminster Abbey. The Queen reigned, but did not
govern. To this end, she named a Prime Minister. Her position means
she can travel all over the world, meeting many heads of state and
celebrities. She has no passport or voter's card, and is the only
inhabitant authorized to drive without a driver's license. The Queen
loves clothes, colorful hats, horse racing and playing with her Corgi
dogs.

Married for 73 years, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip - who died
in April 2021 - had four children born between 1948 and 1964: Prince
Charles, the new King of England, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and
Prince Edward.
