This circular is in continuation of circular 2006-100-NMF-00002 (March 2006) on the launch of Scorpio CRDe
(All New).
In this circular, details for the audio system, functioning of control buttons and guidelines for operating audio
system are covered to understand and explain the same to customer.
The audio system of M/s Nippon, Type NDC-MP6009 UC is having following main features:

1. SRC:
SRC button will change operating mode to Tuner or CD or Card or USB or Aux by pressing this button.
Operating mode is selected as per the sequence Tuner → CD → Card → USB → Aux.
If external memory storage devices (i.e., CD, Card & USB) are removed from audio system, then operating
mode selection will be Tuner → Aux.
2. SCAN:
This function will scan the presently active station in the SRC
selected band.

All active station will be played sequentially for 5-seconds.

4. MUTE:
5. LOC / Distant:
When LOC / DX button is pressed, it displays the message LOC. This function scans quickly all those
stations with stable reception.
Press the button again to its DX position to scan stations with weak signals.
6. INFO:
During radio operation, momentarily press this button to call the time display. Time will appear together with
an AM / FM indication. Press ‘INFO’ button again to return display to radio frequency indication.
During MP3 / CARD / USB player operation, first press of this button will display the CD / CARD / USB
information (i.e., track information) and second press of this button will call the time display. In audio CD
player operation, pressing of ‘INFO’ button will display time & no track information will be displayed.
7. Adjusting Time:
To set the time, press ‘INFO’ button and hold it. Time will start blinking; turn the volume knob clockwise for
increment in hours or anticlockwise for increment in minutes.
After 5 seconds, time will be set in the unit & display will return to the normal indication.
8. Volume:
Increase or decrease the volume by rotating the outer (power) button knob clockwise / counter-clockwise.

This control button is also used in conjunction with select button (SEL) to adjust Bass, Treble, DSP,
Balance & Fader levels. Please refer to the ‘Audio Select’ for the adjustment.
9. PWR:
The button can be used to turn the unit ‘ON’ or ‘OFF’ and
also to use the pause function.
10. Tuner:
Stores the frequency of a favourate station and in future favourate station can be recalled with a single
touch.

To store the favourate station, follow the steps given below:
a. Turn the radio ‘ON’ and select the desired band for the favourate station(s).
b. Press the button (1 to 6) for at least two seconds to store the selected favourate station.
The channel numbers (CH 1 to 6) gets displayed to indicate that the data has been stored.
Note: One can store 6- favourate stations from each of the radio bands (i.e., FM1, FM2, MW1 and MW2).
Press the preset station button (i.e., 1 to 6) for the desired station.
The number of recalled station is displayed.
Press BAND button to select desired band FM1 / FM2 / MW1/ MW2.

Press button (1 to 6) momentarily to recall the memorized station.
This feature allows the user to set 12 channels in the area he is traveling (without disturbing the preset
stations).
Press AUT button to change the normal mode to special MW/FM band.
Press AUT button for more than 2 seconds. This will start searching for 6 strongest FM or MW stations in
the region where you are driving and stores them in preset memory 1 to 6. With AUT button, total 12
stations (6 for FM & 6 for MW) can be stored in preset memory.

During play, next Forward Track or File can be selected by pressing Track Up
(TUN, ►►I ) button and Backward Track or File can be selected by pressing
Track Down (TUN, I◄◄ ) button.

If Track Up or Track Down button is pressed and hold, the disc is set to the
Forward / Rewind mode.
Press SEL button to select the desired adjustment mode BAS, TRE, BAL, FAD & VOL.
Rotate the Vol. to adjust the selected item. Make the adjustment within 5 seconds after selecting. After 5
sec. this button will revert to its function as volume control button.
Adjusting Bass (press SEL button 2-times) & Treble (press SEL 3-times) (Min. -10 to Max. + 10):
Rotate volume clockwise to increase. Rotate the volume anti clockwise to decrease.
DSP mode:
Press SEL button 4 times to enter in DSP mode. After entering in DSP mode, select one mode amongst
3-modes (i.e., Pop, Classic and Rock) by rotating VOL control knob.
Rotate Clockwise to increase the Volume & Rotate Anti clock wise to decrease Volume.
5. Top (TOP):
If ‘INT’ button is pressed, all the tracks of the CD will be played for 10 seconds. During this time "INT"
appears on the display.
When a desired track or file is reached, press ‘INT’ button again to cancel the function. ‘INT’ will dis-
appear from the display and plays the selected track or file.
Press “RPT” button to play a song repeatedly. "RPT" appears on the display and selected song will be
played repeatedly until "RPT" button is pressed once again.
To repeat folder, press & hold ‘RPT’ button for few seconds. Press ‘RPT’ again to cancel.
By pressing "RDM" button, songs in CD will be played in a random order. Press "RDM" button once again
to bring the function to normal play mode.
To play folder randomly, press & hold ‘RDM’ button for few seconds. Press ‘RDM’ again to cancel.
By use of ‘D-‘ or ‘D+’ button, one can move up or down the folders including files.
One can select Track / Files by using ‘AUT’ & ‘SEL’ buttons. In MP3 mode, press ‘AUT’ button once. This
will display ‘MP3 T----‘. Then by turning ‘VOL’ button, one can move to the track easily.
When desired track is found, press ‘SEL’ button shortly and selected track will be played.
If ‘AUT’ button is pressed two times, the first file’s name of each alphabet display in the order of alphabet
from ‘A’ to ‘Z’. When an alphabet is selected, one can search for the other file’s name which starts from
the same alphabet selected by turning ‘VOL’ button. Press ‘SEL’ button to play a desired track.
If ‘AUT’ button is pressed three times, the first folder’s name of each alphabet display according to the
sequence of alphabet from ‘A’ to ‘Z’. One can select the folder by turning ‘VOL’ button and then press
‘SEL’ button. Audio will play from the first file of the selected folder.
a. Insert SD Card or USB drive in SD card port or USB port respectively. Please take precaution while
inserting memory card or USB drive to avoid damages.

b. Play will start automatically and active operation is highlighted on screen. Refer to the photographs
given below; which shows audio system is playing the files in USB drive.

c. If SD card or USB drive is already inserted in audio system, press SRC button & select operating
mode to SD Card or USB drive.
2. Play / Pause:
a. To pause SD Card or USB play, press and hold PWR button for more than 2 seconds.
3. Function Keys:
All the function keys (viz. Track Up / Down, Audio Select, Top, INT, Repeat, Random, Folder Select and
Fast Selection of Track / Files) work same as mentioned above for MP3 / CD player.
NOTE:
Control buttons like Power, Track, Volume, Mute, SRC, BAND, SEL, SCAN, AUT, INFO, INT, RPT,
RDM and Pre-set stations described above can be operated either through REMOTE OR through
FRONT PANEL.

b. Holding middle upper side of the panel, pull front panel straight out in the direction of arrow (as shown in
below photograph). Keep the front panel in the casing to protect it from dirt / damage.

c. The red lamp blinks, which indicate front panel has been removed.
b. First, attach right side of the front panel lightly and then push the left side of the
panel into the unit. Refer photograph no. 2 & 3.

Notes:
Ensure that there is no dust or dirt on the electrical terminals on the back of the front panel. This could
cause intermittent operation or malfunctions

- Press battery holder locking knob and simultaneously pull battery holder (Refer photograph no. ‘B’).
- Remove old battery and insert new 3V lithium battery (Type: CR 2025). Type of battery to be used for
remote is also embossed on battery holder (Refer photograph no. ‘C’).
Following checks will assist in analyzing the problems which may encounter in MP3 / CD player.
Before going through the check list given below, please refer to the operating procedure described above and
also check the wiring connections.
Also, make sure that antenna is connected, extended and dry inside.

The mounting of the unit is different. Previously it was sliding fit, now it is mounted by two screws. Access
to the screws is after removing the center console.
