Lee Ann’s Story

One day Lee Ann had a problem with a touch from a friend
of her mother .He said he would teach her about being grown
up and touched her under her dress. He told her to keep it a
secret. Lee Ann didn’t know what to do, so she let him touch
her.

If I were Lee Ann, I would feel...

Lee Ann told her mom what happened. She

was scared because she thought she had
done something wrong to let her mother’s
friend touch her. She was also scared
because it was supposed to be a secret.

Lee Ann’s mother believed her and told her

it is NEVER THE FAULT OF THE CHILD when
an adult or bigger kid touches the private
parts of her or his body.

Lee Ann’s mother told her “I am glad you

told me. I want you to always tell me when
something bad or uncomfortable happens
to you.”

Lee Ann no longer feels “yeeee” inside. She

knows now she has the right to say No when
someone touches her private parts, or in any
other way touches her where she doesn’t
want to be touched.

She will now always talk with her mom who

loves her and will protect her!

RIZAL’S STORY

Rizal needed help in school. His parents found a tutor to help. After only a short time Rizal did better in
school. He was happy to get better marks but he was also happy because he liked his tutor.

His parents were also pleased and would send little gifts of thanks to the tutor. Rizal’s teacher was so
pleased that he would praise Rizal often for his good work.

One day Rizal’s tutor says he has something special to teach him that he won’t learn at school. He shows
him a magazine with adults kissing and doing things he doesn’t understand.

The tutor shows him a picture and says he want Rizal to do the same thing to him. Rizal says, “No, I don’t
like that!” But the tutor gets angry and tells him how much he has helped him in school, so now it is his
turn to help him.

The tutor also tells Rizal that if he tells anyone, nobody will believe him because he will say he was cheating
in school and that is how he gets better marks.

Rizal now decides to TELL HIS PARENTS because he doesn’t want that to happen again! Rizal went to tell
his mother. He was still scared. He was breaking a promise of secrecy he made with his tutor.

When Rizal told his mother, she was surprised but she believed Rizal. His mother said,” I’m really glad you
told me. YOU ARE VERY BRAVE. Now I can keep you safe.”

She told Rizal, “I will never let that tutor be with you alone again!”

But Rizal was still worried.

What if his father got angry at him?

What will happen to his marks in school?

What will happen to the tutor?

Rizal’s mother answered, “What happened was not your fault. You didn’t do anything
wrong. I will talk to your father and I think he will understand. We will talk to some other
people so that the tutor gets the help he needs and won’t hurt anybody else again.”

That night when Rizal’s father came

home, he and his mother came to talk
with Rizal. He said, “I’m really sorry
about what happened to you. You have
a right to be safe. We are going to do
all we can to protect you.”

Then Rizal’s father comforted him

and told him, “It is o.k. to feel scared
or angry or confused! I am not angry
with you. I love you and we are going
to help you deal with these feelings.
Talking about a touching problem is
not easy. What makes families work is
when we can talk about anything. I AM
PROUD OF YOU, Rizal!”
