CLINICAL DETAILS Right thyroid nodule TR4. 63.6 x 31.4 mm.

GROSS EXAMINATION Received 6 wet and 3 air dried smears.

MICROSCOPIC EXAMINATION
Cellular smears. It shows follicular cells in monolayered sheets. Most
clusters are well spaced with no nucleomegaly or grooves or inclusions.
Focal areas of nuclear enlargement with few intranuclear grooves are
seen. No papillaroid clusters or intranuclear inclusions are seen.
Background shows thin colloid with cyst macrophages.

IMPRESSION Atypia of undetermined significance.

Architectural atypia.
Bethesda category III.
