Instruction of J2534 Passthru Function
For G-scan authorized aftermarket distributors only
J2534 Passthru function has been added to G-scan2
from May 2016 version S/W. Update G-scan2 with the
May 2016 software version first.
Setting
For operating G-scan2 as a J2534 Passthru device,
DLL (Library) file must be installed on the PC which is
needed to recognize G-scan2 as a USB device.
Please download ‘J2534 Passthru PC library’ installation
file from the ‘Support’ menu on our website.

Unzip the file and install the program on the PC.
Use Mini B type (5 Pin) Cable for connecting G-scan2
with the PC. This cable is industrially standardized which
is available off the shelf at an electronic shop.
Mini B type (5 Pin) Male Cable
Connect G-scan2’s mini USB 5 Pin port (next to the SD
card slot) and PC’s USB port with the cable.

J2534 Passthru function of G-scan2 is validated
as the reprogramming tool for USA spec Hyundai
and Kia vehicles only.

downloading ECU reprogramming data files.

Using the function for reprogramming of the ECUs
is validated and recommended for Hyundai and
Kia models of USA spec only.
G-scan2 serves as the “passthru” device only in
this mode and the data files required for
reprogramming must be downloaded from the car
manufacturer’s service website at user’s own risk
and responsibility.
