Instructions: For this unit, you need to explore the given topic in order to write all the strands of
Criterion B.

The following Unit matrix

Key Concept – Development

Related Concept – Function, Ergonomics
Global Context – Scientific and technical innovation

AKA Strand – Pluralism - Critically examine and evaluate different points of view, understanding their
strengths and weaknesses, and leading to a well-developed personal position.

cultures enhance ergonomics.
MYP Subject Objectives – A, B, C, D
ATL Skills – Creative thinking skills, Research skills

Introduction: You need to develop specifications and design ideas for the poster which you will
be developing for the choice topic.

• Develop design specifications, which outlines the success criteria for the design of a
solution based on the data collected

• What are the main features (specifications) you want to see in your final product. (i.e., in your
Poster)
Design Specification: ACCESSFM refer the below sample to fill in the table:

(Your design specifications should be specific, detailed) -Any 5

Design Specification Description
Aesthetics

• Present a range of feasible design ideas, which can be correctly interpreted by

others.
• Develop a range of good quality designs and measure each of them against the design
specifications. You will be required to design how you expect your Poster(s) to look like.

(You are expected to draw your own designs by using Pen and paper. Downloading
from the Internet is STRICTLY not allowed.)

• Create two rough design Sketch -Poster. One is the Final Design Sketch. (Two pen and
Paper Designs)

• Annotate each design ideas and describe them.

• Present the chosen design and outline the reasons for its selection

Evaluation of designs against specifications: Self and Feedback from at least 3 or more peers. You can
use online tools to collect feedback like google forms or survey monkey etc.

• Which design will you choose for your final Poster? Justify.

• Develop accurate planning drawings/diagrams which outlines requirements for the creation of
the chosen solution. (With annotation)
