DIGITAL PORTFOLIO ASSIGNMENT 2
Language Level: A2+

Task Requirements:
 Complete the task in pairs.
 Follow all the steps and the instructions on the Task page carefully.
 Pay attention to the checklist, the rubric, and the scoring rules.
 Work on a Microsoft Office Word document to complete the assignment form.
 Make sure that all the necessary details are included in your assignment form. Save the assignment form as a
Word document (including both stories completed by Student A and Student B, and your commentary on
both stories as a PAIR) by your names and surnames (e.g. Zeynep Yılmaz and Aylin Nur Digital Portfolio 2),
and submit it to your instructor on https://harmanlanmis.ankara.edu.tr/ on time.
 In classes with an odd number of students, one student will voluntarily help one of her/his classmates who
doesn’t have a partner to complete the task, but s/he will not be graded for her/his support.

Speaking
 GSE A2+ 40 (SP) can tell a story or describe something in a simple list of points.
 GSE A2+ 23 (SP) can tell events real or imagined.
Reading
 GSE A2+ 37 (WR) can understand short, simple narrative texts.
 GSE A2+ 39 (WR) can understand a simple text about a past event.
Writing
 GSE A2+ 40 (WP) can write a simple story or description of an event using basic
time expressions.

*** Do not miss the deadline. If you don’t submit the assignment on time, your assignment WILL NOT BE GRADED,
and you will get 0 (zero) points for this assignment.
*** Academic integrity is the principle that asks students to engage with their academic work to the fullest and to
behave honestly, transparently, and ethically in every work. You are allowed to make use of various resources to
complete your assignment, though you are required to paraphrase the source in your own words. Otherwise, it could
be considered plagiarism. Violations of academic integrity will be determined by using the programs used for this
purpose (Turnitin, etc.). If there is more than 10% similarity with the other resources, you will get 0 (zero) points for
this assignment. An additional Artificial Intelligence report has also been activated on harmanlanmis.ankara.edu.tr. It
checks whether the content has been prepared using applications like ChatGPT, Google Translate, etc. Therefore,
your submission will be checked for the use of artificial intelligence through Turnitin reporting system. In case of a
detection, you will get 0 (zero) points for this assignment.

STEP 1: Write an imaginary story. The first sentence of the story is given to you. (In this step, each student in a pair
will work INDIVIDUALLY. Student A and Student B will complete their stories SEPARATELY.)

STEP 2: Work with your partner. Tell your story to your partner. While you are telling your story, she/he will be
taking some notes about your story. When you finish, let your partner share her/his ideas and notes about your
story with you.

STEP 3: Listen to the story of your partner and take some notes. You can use the space given below to take notes.
When your partner finishes telling his story to you, tell him your ideas about his story by using your notes. At this
stage, you can read his story on your own.

STEP 4: Work with your partner. Show her/him your story and read hers/his. Discuss what things you and your
partner have in common. Write ONE commentary as A PAIR about the things in common in both stories. While
writing your commentary, check the sample in Unit 1D, Part C on Page 15 in SpeakOut A2+ Student’s Book.
