SC01

Manika first came to the house- or what's left of it during the Eid. She and her family (dad, aunt, uncle)
was walking through the building while listening to Aunt explaining the historical background.
Unexpectedly, Aunt told Manika that she has been trusted with the important duty of renovating the
home. Manika was shocked of couse, but Aunt just pat her shoulders and said that Uncle Dewa will give
her the details.

SC02

Cut to the next morning. Uncle Dewa knocked at Manika's door, and told her the details. Manika was still
confused, "Are we really going to do this?" she asked, "Yes, and prepare yourself for this" Dewa retorts.
Then, they went to already renovated Keraton buildings to do some research. There, they met the owner
of the building, an actual princess of Solo. She thanks her, saying that she appreciates people who truly
care about historical sites. She explained that each furniture, each wall and decoration has a story to tell.
"They have lived longer than we are. And listened to conversations of people long gone."

Dewa and Manika closed the day by walking along the Kauman Batik Street. Dewa says that "Our
predecessor didn't write stories, they tell them through art". When Manika examined the batik, it
morphs into a human figure and it shows some kind of battle between this figure and an armed force.

SC03

Cut to next day, Dewa and Manika met during breakfast. Dewa said that he did it purely out of passion,
and he wants Indonesian people to not forget Indonesian history. Manika said, "well, you don't have to
worry about that anymore. Because I have decided that I am joining you". Dewa smiles, and scene
suddenly cuts to a montage of Manika and Dewa doing research in other Keraton buildings, learning
mannerism, and shopping for building materials.

SC04

Forward to weeks later, Manika looks at the architectural design she made on her computer. She slams
her laptop, ruffled her hair while mumbling about her frustration that her design that's never good
enough. She meets Dewa again during breakfast, and he told her about how important and patriotic
their job is. He said "This job is important, last thing we can do is ruin this project". Manika, who was
stressed that her design might not be up to standards, only nodded in silence. She sat beside Dewa and
ate her breakfast. Dewa looks in her way, a bit of concern and confusion visible in his eyes. She suddenly
said that she's going to Jakarta because 'her friend is hospitalized'. Dewa couldn't refuse so, he just held
hopes.

SC05
His worry turned out to be true. Manika cut off contact for a whole week. Dewa tried to contact
Manika's dad, and he said that Manika is indeed in Jakarta, but he didn't know what she's up to. Jump
cut to Manika, being groggy in her bed. She goes out to meet her friend's child, who is making some
origami. She makes fun of it in a joking way, that the result looks really ugly. The child said "it doesn't
matter, aunt, I'm doing my best. I'm just a child". Manika looked that kid square in the eyes, as she just
got enlightened.

SC06

Uncle Dewa was in his room, doing engineering work for the renovation, when his cellphone rang. It was
Manika, who apologized and said she was sorry. Uncle Dewa said it was no big deal, just hurry up back to
Solo. That night, Manika arrived in Solo and she headed straight to Uncle Dewa's. There, Manika was
being apologetic and Uncle Dewa tried to calm her down. Uncle Dewa said, "it doesn't matter if you're
doing it wrong or badly, a lot of Indonesian people in general need to just do it". Manika said that "I
think that is the mindset I'm going for, after all who else is going to do it?"

SC07

And so, a few months later the house renovation is done. Aunt, dad, the kind Keraton princess, Dewa,
and Manika attended the Syukuran. A gamelan troupe was invited, and they all feasted and celebrated
together.
