PERTEMUAN 1

Pengertian :

 Greeting adalah ungkapan-ungkapan salam atau sapaan yang digunakan

untuk menyapa atau memulai melakukan komunikasi ketika kita bertemu
seseorang , memulai untuk memperkenalkan diri kepada orang lain yang
belum kita kenal, dan juga untuk menanyakan kabar saat kita bertemu
seseorang.

 Leave Taking adalah sebuah ungkapan mengakhiri suatu percakapan atau

pertemuan.

Selain istilah leave-taking, juga biasa disebut Parting (perpisahan) atau Farewell (pamitan).

Setiap pertemuan pasti ada perpisahan. Jika salam atau sapaan saat bertemu adalah
greetings, maka salam saat perpisahan disebut dengan leave-taking expressions

Macam-macam :

 Greeting terbagi menjadi 2 yaitu:

1. Formal Greeting : is greeting that can be used when we are in a formal

situation, for example at meetings, presentations, etc.

2. Informal Greeting : is greeting that can be used when we are in a relaxed

situation, for example when meeting peers, at rest, during
holidays, etc.

 Leave-taking terbagi menjadi 2 yaitu:

 1. Formal Leave-taking : can be defined as an expression or act with which
somebody is leaved when we are in a formal situation, for
example at meetings, presentations, etc

2. Informal Leave-taking : can be defined as an expression or act with which

somebody is leaved when we are in a relaxed situation,
for example when meeting peers, at rest, during holidays,
etc.

Notes:
 1. Good morning digunakan dari jam 00.00 - 12.00 siang.
2. Good afternoon digunakan dari setelah jam 12.00 - 18.00.
3. Good evening dipakai dari jam18.00 - 24.00(00.00) ketika bertemu seseorang.
4. Good night dipakai dari jam 18.00 sid 24.00(00.00) ketika akan berpisah /
mengucapkan selamat berpisah / selamat tidur.

5. P.m. (Post merediem) = dari jam 12.00 siang - 24.00 malam.

6. A.m (Ante merediem) = dari jam 24.00 malam - 12.00 siang.
