School: Mobod Integrated School
Name of Teacher: Yna Monica S. Villamor
Section/Time/Date: February 29, 2024 (1:00pm- 2:00pm)
Objectives must be met over the week and connected to the curriculum
standards. To meet the objectives, necessary procedures must be followed
and if needed, additional lessons, exercises and remedial activities may be
I. Objectives: done for developing content knowledge and competencies. These are
assessed using Formative Assessment Strategies. Valuing objectives support
the learning of content and competencies and enable children to find
significance and joy in learning the lessons. Weekly objectives shall be derived
from the curriculum guides.
A. Content Standard: The learners demonstrate an understanding of the use of hand
tools and equipment for computer system servicing
B. Performance The learners shall be able to use hand tools and equipment for
Standard: computer system servicing.
C. Learning Competency: Plan and prepare for task to be undertaken

IV. Procedures: These steps should be done across the week. Spread out the activities
appropriately so that pupils/students will learn well. Always be guided by
demonstration of learning by the pupils/ students which you can infer from formative
assessment activities. Sustain learning systematically by providing pupils/students
with multiple ways to learn new things, practice the learning, question their learning
processes, and draw conclusions about what they learned in relation to their life
experiences and previous knowledge. Indicate the time allotment for each step.

Learning Episode 1
I. Motivation:
A. Presentation: Today we will learn and identify the kinds of hand tools and
equipments used in computer servicing system and it`s uses.
B. Imptortance The importance of hand tools are indispensable in computer servicing
systems due to their precision, accessibility, versatility, control, and
safety features. Technicians rely on hand tools for tasks such as
tightening screws, connecting cables, and handling delicate
components like RAM sticks and processors. These tools enable
precise adjustments and repairs while providing better control over
movements, reducing the risk of damage to sensitive electronic parts.
With hand tools, technicians can access tight spaces within
computers where power tools may not reach, ensuring thorough and
efficient servicing while maintaining safety standards.
C. Formative At the end of the lesson, you will be given a test of identifying the

Learning Episode 2: The teacher says: This time, I will give you an example of hand tools that are used
in computer system servicing and their respective categories.

“I Do”

Hardware tools are grouped in four (4) categories.

Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) Tools- are tools that have been

designed to minimize the risk of damage from static electricity. They
accomplish this by dissipating any static charges that may build up on
the tool or the object being worked on.

 Anti-static wrist and heel straps that eliminate static buildup

 ESD floor and work surface mats that assist with discharge
 Static-resistive clothing, such as shoe covers and
specialized work wear made with synthetic fibers
 Gloves and finger cots which allow workers to safely handle
and work with ESD-sensitive equipment

Hand Tools- devices used to perform work on a material or a

physical system using only hands. It can be manually used employing
force or electrically powered or electric current.

 Flat-head screwdriver: Used to tighten or loosen slotted

screws.
 Phillips-head screwdriver: Used to tighten or loosen cross-
headed screws.
 Torx screwdriver: Used to tighten or loosen screws that have
a star-like depression on the top, a feature that is mainly found
on laptops.
 Hex driver: Used to tighten or loosen nuts in the same way
that a screwdriver tightens or loosens screws (sometimes
called a nut driver).
 Crimper: Used to attach connectors to wires
 Wire cutters: Used to strip and cut wires.
 Tweezers: Used to manipulate small parts.
 Wire stripper: A wire stripper is used to remove the insulation
from wire so that it can be twisted to other wires or crimped to
connectors to make a cable.
 Combination pliers (also known as “Lineman's pliers”) are a
type of pliers that can perform more than one function in a
single tool. This will usually be both gripping and cutting.
They're typically used by electricians, workmen, and
tradespeople for bending and cutting through tough metal wire
and electrical cables.
 Tweezers are helpful when working in tight spots or for
retrieving that lost screw inside of a computer case.

Cleaning Tools- tools used to clean and organize computer

components.

 Soft cloth: Used to clean different computer components

without scratching or leaving debris
 Compressed air: Used to blow away dust and debris from
different computer parts without touching the components
 Cable ties: Used to bundle cables neatly inside and outside of
a computer
 Parts organizer: Used to hold screws, jumpers, fasteners, and
other small parts and prevents them from getting mixed
together

Diagnostic Tools- used to test and diagnose equipment.

digital multimeter, is a device that can take many types of

measurements. It tests the integrity of circuits and the quality of
electricity in computer components. A digital multimeter displays the
information on an LCD or LED.

LAN tester is mainly used for testing ethernet cables for faults or
missing pair connections. A decent LAN tester can also test the
ethernet cable for shorted pairs and can also tell you if the cable is
straight or a cross over.

The teacher says: By this time, we will do together. (The teacher will call students to
participate and answer the questions being asked)

“We Do”

 What tool should be used when combining two wires together?

Possible answer r: Crimper
 In what category does it belong?
Possible answer: Hand tool
 How about the use of tweezers?
Possible answer: It is used to pick up small components inside
of computer.

The teacher says: By this time, you will do individually. The students will identify the
hand tools and equipment based on the given picture.

“You Do”

Give at least two (2) tools under each category.

Possible answers:

Learning Episode 3:
A. Guided The class will be divided into four groups, each named after one of
Practice: the four categories of hand tools used in CSS: ESD, Hand Tools,
Diagnostic Tools and Cleaning Tools. Each group will receive sets of
pictures containing various CSS hardware tools. Their task is to
identify the tools' names and determine if they belong to the category
named after their group. Additionally, each group must find the picture
of the tool that should be in each of the other categories. With only 3
minutes allotted, groups must collaborate efficiently. After the time
elapses, each group will present their findings, verifying
categorizations and discussing any discrepancies.
