CONCLUSİON

The vortex experiment is a significant tool in the field of fluid mechanics or fluid dynamics
and can be used for various purposes. In the free vortex experiment, we can conclude that
vortex experiments are utilized to understand how fluids behave under different conditions.
These experiments help us observe the rotational motions of fluids (vortices) and how they
interact with variable factors.

As the experiment is studied, information about the apparatus and procedure is provided us
to observe the experiment more efficiently.

During the experiment, water was steadily flowing in a tank, and vortices were observed
forming when the water encountered an obstacle. Upon examining the movement of the
water inside the vortex, it was noticed that the spinning motion weakened as it moved away
from the center. The water was observed to move faster towards the middle of the vortex and
slower towards the edges.

The situation observed in the free vortex experiment was labeled as "Situation a." while the
situation observed in the forced vortex experiment was labeled as "Situation b." The main
observation of our laboratory experiment was determined to be from the forced vortex
experiment.
During this experiment, it was observed that the measured height of the liquid is dependent
on the square of the angular velocity, the square of the radius of the circular flow creating the
vortex, and gravity. If we examine the experiment results;

For the first experiment :

 When the minimum height value is taken as 122 mm in the vortex formed at a speed
of 60 rpm with a radius of 4cm the liquid reached a height of 125mm.

For the second experiment:

 When the minimum height value is taken as 117 mm in the vortex formed at a speed
of 70 rpm with a radius of 4cm the liquid reached a height of 120mm.

For the third experiment:

 When the minimum height value is taken as 110 mm in the vortex formed at a speed
of 80rpm with a radius of 4cm the liquid reached a height of 115mm.

This experiment was repeated with different data, yielding varied results. These results are
also included in the calculation section of the lab report.
