professional
responsibilities. Engineers must conduct themselves in a way that preserves and upholds the honor,
integrity, and dignity of their profession. Engineers must avoid conflicts of interest and act professionally
for each employer or client as dependable agents or trustees.

Engineers must continue their professional development throughout their careers and must give those
engineers under their supervision the chance to do the same. Engineers must establish their
professional reputation based on the quality of their work and must not engage in unfair competition
with others. Engineers are only permitted to make objective, truthful public statements. Engineers are
only permitted to provide services in their areas of expertise.
