Sociological Imagination Activity, further clarifications

*Make sure to also read the instructions in the syllabus*

Your checklist:
o Did you read the prompt carefully?
o Did you follow the prompt instructions?
o Have you answered all of the questions listed in the prompt?
o Are you ready to answer questions about your activity in tutorial?

Format: maximum one page single-spaced memo (12 point font), plus any appendixes you would
like to add

Submission: hard copy in tutorial + soft copy to Moodle

Due: in tutorial the week after the prompt is discussed in lecture (with some exceptions at the
beginning of the course, and when we don’t have class due to breaks)

You don’t need: a title/title page

Citations: you’ll sometimes need external research depending on the prompt, but don’t need
direct, in-text citations except if you’re quoting. Just add a list of sources to the memo (not
included in one-page limit); any citation style is fine.

No formal presentations: you’re not doing a formal presentation on your activity. You’re just
sharing with the group what it was like to do your activity (see also checklist point #4 above). No
powerpoint or standing up at the front of class required.

No group work: the sociological imagination activities are individual.

AI rules: apply here too. The syllabus has more specifics on those.
