Gardening Tip 1

Keep on top of Weeding

To keep on top of weeding, aim to spend just 10 minutes
each morning outdoors pulling weeds. I like to bring my
coffee with me!

Gardening Tip 2
Use Rain Water
Find a way to collect and use rain water. Your plants will
benefit from the minerals in the rain water.

Gardening Tip 3
Plan for Hail, Pests and Disease
Many new gardeners are tempted to quit when they run into
problems. Know that these are part of gardening. Accept
them, deal with them and learn from them.

Gardening Tip 4
Compost
If you aren't already composting, start! Compost goes a
long way to improving your garden soil and vegetable
growth.

Garden Tip 5
Plant Flowers in with Your Vegetables
Planting nasturtiums, marigolds and sunflowers in your
edible garden not only makes it more interesting and
beautiful, but these flowers also attract pollinators.
Marigolds and nasturtiums are known to keep pests
away.
