diseases.

Disease vs
Disorder
Amyloidosis
• There is no known cure.
Aortic Rupture/Dissecting Aneurysm
Aspergillosis
(Brooder
Pneumonia)
Avian Pox (Fowl Pox)
• Avian pox is caused by a virus and
affects turkeys, chickens, and other
birds.
• a common disease of poultry that
Bumblefoot affects the feet.
• Symptoms include swelling,
(Staphylococcosis) reluctance to walk, and swelling in
the center of the foot.
Cage Layer • Cage layer fatigue appears to be a
nutritional problem involving minerals.
Fatigue
Coccidiosis
• Symptoms include
droopiness, huddling of
birds, loss of appetite, loss
of weight, and diarrhoea,
which may be bloody.
Erysipelas
• Erysipelas is caused by a
bacterium. In poultry, it is
most common in turkeys
between 4 and 7 months of
age.
Infectious
Bronchitis
• Infectious bronchitis is
caused by a virus and
affects only chickens.
Infectious Coryza • Infectious coryza is caused by a
bacterium. It affects mainly older
chickens.
Mycotoxicosis
• A variety of symptoms
may indicate the
presence of the
disease.
Newcastle Disease
• Newcastle disease is a major
threat to the poultry industry.
This highly contagious
disease occurs in several
forms, each caused by a
different virus.
