International AIDS Candlelight Memorial 2023

May 21, 2023 is the International AIDS candlelight Memorial highlights the stigma experienced by people
living with HIV. With the theme Spread Love and Solidarity to Build Stronger Communities, highlights the
significant challenges that people living with HIV face due to persistent stigma and discrimination.

Teachers of Mayor Calixto D. Enriquez Elementary School support the International AIDS candlelight
Memorial by raising awareness in HIV/ADS by sending different videos/ infographics through their section group
chat. Wherein the learners watched the videos with the guidance and supervision of their guardian/ home learning
facilitators. Some learners and teachers also lighted candle showing support and sympathy those who passed away
from HIV/AIDS.

Through this simple activity learners become aware that HIV/AIDS is a serious health problem which they
can avoid by following precautionary measures. It will also cut the stigma and discrimination with people having
HIV/AIDS by educating the young ones regarding this illness.
