Topic 3 – Introduction about Research

Write an original essay (not less than 750 words) about the 4 articles you have
read in the SUPLEMENTARY MATERIAL of Topic 3 – Introduction about Research.

The following points should be included in your essay.

1. In summary - what is the meaning of the 4 articles that you have read?
2. In general - how do you feel about your writing skills? What are your
strengths and weakness in writing as a graduate school student?
3. When you think of writing a graduate school research paper (i.e. a
Master’s Thesis or a PhD Dissertation) – what are the things that would
come to your mind?
4. What are your personal anxieties in writing a graduate school research
paper (i.e. a Master’s Thesis or a PhD Dissertation)? How are they related
to the ones mentioned in the four articles you have read?
5. What are some things you can think of which can help you overcome
graduate research paper writing anxieties?
6. What lessons and/or realizations (i.e. take-aways) did you get from the
materials you have read?

Other instructions:

- Use short (US letter) bond paper – recycled paper allowed.

- Use “CENTURY GOTHIC” font @ 12’ font size

- Margin: 2.5cm. - Top, Bottom, Left, Right

- Write your names (atop) of all the pages.
