B. Intro:
The world celebrates the birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary every 8 th of September. Formally
known as the “Feast of the Nativity of Mary,” this day has always been a joyous occasion for
Christians all over the world.
Celebrating her birthday is a way of celebrating her personhood. We celebrate her simply for
being herself. We do not necessarily focus in on any of the unique, beautiful and profound
aspects of her life today. We do not necessarily look at all she accomplished, her perfect yes to
God, her coronation in Heaven, her assumption or any other specifics. All parts of her life are
glorious, beautiful, awe-inspiring and worthy of their own unique feasts and celebration.

On this day, however, we simply celebrate our Blessed Mother because she was created and
brought into this world by God and that alone is worth celebrating. We honor her simply
because we love her and we celebrate her birthday as we would celebrate the birthday of
anyone we love and care for, just like the birthday of our own mom, nanay, inang, mommy,
mama, inay, mamá.

Mga kuya at mga ate, let us reflect, today, upon the fact that Mother Mary is our mother. She
truly is our mother and it’s worth celebrating her birthday in the same way that we would
celebrate our loved ones’ birthday. Our honoring of Mary, today, is a way of solidifying our
bond with her and assuring her that we desire her to be an important part of our lives.

Since Mary asks us often to pray for the conversion of sinners, let us pray the Flying Novena –
the MEMORARE, pero not 9 times in a row. We’ll pray the Memorare 9 times, hanggang bago
matapos ang birthday program natin for our dear Mama Mary na ang intention is for the
conversion of sinners. I do believe this would be a gift she would love and be grateful for.
This would be our 1st MEMORARE. Let us pray.
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy
protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this
confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand,
sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear
and answer me. Amen.

For the complete eradication of Covid-19, for the resolution of the turbulent situation in the world, for
those who are suffering due to natural disasters, and for the conversion of sinners, we fly to you o
Virgin Mary to present to Jesus our petitions. Most Blessed Trinity, hear our prayers and have mercy
on us! Amen.
