THE ART AND SCIENCE
OF NUMEROLOGY
Numerology is a fascinating, magical tool that can bring insight, wisdom and a lot
of fun into your life! It’s been around for thousands of years – ancient cultures used
it
to bring enlightenment, and so can you!

The word “Numerology” means the study of numbers. The fascinating thing about
numbers is that everything in our world can be broken down into a number,
including many things we encounter in our everyday life.

In Numerology, numbers are reduced to a single digit; the only exceptions are
the Master Numbers 11, 22, and 33. Numbers 1 through 9 each hold specific
symbolism and represent archetypes that exist deep within the subconscious: 1 is
The Father, 2 is The Mother, 3 is The Child, 4 is The Builder, 5 is the Rebel, 6 is
The Teacher or Healer, 7 is The Intellectual, 8 is the Organizer or Successor, and 9 is
The Humanitarian.

Everything that can be named (cat, tree,

apple, etc.) can be broken down to its essential
energy by applying numbers to the alphabet.
In this sense, we could hypothetically look at
the world in numbers, much like Neo does in
the Matrix! Mathematicians often say that
numbers are the universal language. This is
very true, and Numerology helps you get a
good feel for the unique vibrations that come
from each number.
DiCe Divination ©Copyright 2019 Numerologist.com PG 6
THE ART AND SCIENCE
OF NUMEROLOGY
You can also look at the numbers 1 through 9 as shapes: 1 is a single line, 2 is a cross,
3 is a triangle, 4 is a square, 5 is a pentagon, 6 is a hexagon, 7 is a heptagon, 8 is an
octagon, and 9 is a nonagon. You can also look at the different types of stars and
how many points each has. Whatever helps you best understand the numbers will
help you understand Numerology – and yourself!

In Numerology, there are five core numbers that serve as guides for your life. These
include your Life Path number (which is determined by adding your birthdate
down into a single digit), your Expression or Destiny number (determined by adding
every single letter of your entire name into a single number), the Birthday
Number (determined by reducing the sum of your birth day to a single digit) , the
Personality Number (adding only the consonants of the letters of your name),
and the Soul Urge (found by adding only the vowels of the letters of your name).

These five core numbers can help you understand your life in ways you’ve never
experienced. You’ll understand your compatibility (or lack of) with the people in your
life, as well as what type of career works best for you. Essentially, understanding
your
personal Numerology has the power to transform you into the truest YOU, which
can set you on a path towards spiritual clarity, success, and a real understanding of
the world around you.

The powerful tool of Numerology

can also be used to explore your
past, your present, and your future
through various divination methods
– in this guide, you’ll learn how to
use Numerology with ordinary, six-
sided dice! Let’s go!

DICE DIVINATION USES,
HISTORY AND LORE
Divination has been around as long as humans have walked the earth. It seems that
we’ve always wanted to know what’s going to happen!

“Rolling the bones,” or divination by

dice is an ancient method you can
use today to gain insight into your
current situation and guidance to
make your best possible future.

Historians can’t pinpoint when the first human threw dice, but dice-throwing
began around the same time, independently, all across the populated world. The
oldest known dice, per archeologists, are from 8,000 years ago, and were made
of found objects like fruit pits, pebbles and seashells. Dice, as we know them
now, have been used for about 2,000 years.

But the material most used, and the forerunner to today’s dice was bone – the ankle
bones of hoofed animals like sheep and oxen. These bones, later called astragali by
the Greeks, were chosen because they are basically cube-shaped with two rounded

sides that couldn’t be landed on, and four at ones that could. Today, dice are
made up of all kinds of materials, but usually plastic, metal and wood. The first dice
throwers were religious Shaman who used bones (and sticks, rocks, or even animal
entrails) for divination. But how did this method end up in the hands of the
general public?

According to David Schwartz in Roll the Bones: The History of Gambling,

“The line between divination and gambling is blurred. One hunter, for
example, might say to another, ‘If the bones land short side up, we will
search for game to the south; if not, we look north,’ thus using the astragali
to plumb the future [divination]. But after the hunt, the hunters might cast
bones to

determine who would go home with the most desirable cuts [gambling].”
DICE DIVINATION USES,
HISTORY AND LORE
Today, Tibetan monks – including the Dalai Lama – still practice a dice divination
technique called Sho-Mo using three standard spotted dice (not to be confused
with Mo dice, which have Tibetan lettering). And, Romani Gypsy men carry dice in
their pockets in case they need to make a decision. After reading this guide, you
might want to do the same! And the Bible mentions “casting lots” (another term
for throwing dice or other objects) as a way of reaching a decision via divine
guidance.

DICE RULES
With most methods of divination, there are stories and “rules” that have been

created over time. And dice are no exception. Are these beliefs valid? You might try
using these rules when you roll the bones or disregard them – it’s entirely up to you.
You could always experiment and see if you get more accurate results using them.
Some contradict each other, so feel free to pick and choose!

Only throw the dice when you are feeling calm (this is good advice!)

In the winter or when the weather is cool, roll the dice in complete silence

Never use dice you play games with to do divination

Always throw the dice with your left hand

If you seek future guidance, throw with the right hand

Use the left hand to throw if you’re asking about people or relationships

Throw the dice with both hands

if you’re asking about a situation

DICE DIVINATION USES,
HISTORY AND LORE
THE ROMAN “THROW OF VENUS”
Now for some dice lore: In the ancient Roman Empire, “casting lots” or “rolling the
bones” by dice was often called the “Throw of Venus” because she is the goddess
whose guidance they sought.

Manuscript fragments from the Hellenistic Era give us some insight into the Throw
of Venus, suggesting they would use 3 dice at one time. If all three dice landed on
the same number, it was considered the worst possible throw, called “the dog”

after Anubis, the dog-headed god associated with mummification, the afterlife

and
the underworld. But the dice were associated with Venus or Isis, which meant that
not all triples were unfortunate because she is the goddess of pleasure and good
fortune.

The best throw was one in which all dice showed different numbers. It’s possible
this meant there were many choices to be made or many things to choose
between rather than a judgment of Venus to be carried out by Anubis, passed
onto the person seeking the omen from the goddess.

One of the methods they used for throwing involved a chant. All three dice are
placed in a cup and shaken while the reader says 3 times slowly:

Ah-dar… Ah-dar… ee-o… ad-dar…dee-er

When using this divination method, as

with others, appeal to your chosen
spiritual entity (whether it’s a spirit guide,
angel,
Ascended Master or a god) to guide your
hand to roll the dice for an accurate
answer.
DICE DIVINATION USES,
HISTORY AND LORE
BUILDING YOUR DICE THROWING KIT
In order to use all the throws in this guide, you’ll need:

Three dice

A circle approx. 7” in diameter. This can be drawn on

a piece of paper or board or you can even use a
paper doily just as we use in this guide.

A small box or bowl. You can use any small bowl,

a gift box or any other small box that has a flat,
smooth bottom

A small china plate

A cup, if you choose to use one. A simple coffee cup or

juice glass will do

A notebook or journal to keep track of your throws -

your Dice Reading Journal

You’ll find different kinds of dice for different games, but for the purposes of
divination, just your normal dice will do – they have six sides with numbers on each
side. They can
be made of wood, metal, plastic, glass or any material you choose.

Dice sets come in various quantities. For the purposes of this guide, you’ll only
need three dice (and FYI, die is the
singular of dice).

Store your items in a box (even a

shoe box works) for easy access.

Now, keep reading to learn what

each number means!

THE MEANINGS OF THE NUMBERS

The art and science of Numerology, combined with dice, can give you powerful
insights into your future, tell you yes-or-no, or just give you the inside track on the

day ahead. You’ll learn some different throws later in this guide.

When looking at the number meanings, you’ll notice that the single-digit
numbers are closely aligned with Numerology. The double-digit numbers are not
as closely aligned, and the meanings have been handed down through history.

Unlike some other methods of divination, there aren’t any alternate meanings based
on the situation. This makes interpretation of your throw very easy! Your job after
each throw is to figure out how the messages of the dice apply to your life.

In dice divination, we start at 18 because that’s the highest number you can get
with three dice.

18 – Great success and good fortune are ahead! This success is

something that will happen almost immediately.

17 – Changes will make it seem that things are not going to work out,
but even if it doesn’t, the outcome will be to your advantage.

16 – In connection with the question, travel will be required

(either a long or short distance from the home), and that
will bring happiness.

15 – Pursuing your goal should be done with extreme caution

because taking action will bring trouble. If you throw three 5’s, it is
even more troublesome –
misfortune is usually the
result of this throw. Again,
act with extreme caution.
PG 14

THE MEANINGS OF THE

NUMBERS
14 – Whatever the question is, resolving it will be due to the help of a
new friend. This could be a new friend you’ve just made, or it could

be someone you don’t currently know who will come along and
help you.

13 – Do not pursue the matter if this is the throw! Sorrow will follow
if you proceed. This is a stop sign. Do not move forward. Going
further just creates problems for you.

12 – The matter will be resolved by a message that is soon to

arrive. If it happens to be three 4’s, the outcome will be poor,
or if you implement the plan or idea, it will not make you
happy.

11 – The matter with which you are concerned will be affected greatly
if you part from someone you care for. No indication as to whether
it
is affected for better or worse.

10 – This matter will only be affected by a departure or new birth,

but you must await this sign to do anything about it. As an
example, let’s say your question is, “should I buy these stocks?”
Unless someone in your personal circle is having a child,
getting married, opening a business, or their dog has puppies
(all actual
or symbolic births) or getting divorced or a child leaving to
college (a departure) do not take action. When something like
this does

happen, then is the time to act.

9 – A marriage or other relationship (business partnership,

engagement, etc.) within your circle of associates affects the
matter about which you’re
asking. Love, harmony or
reconciliation is the result,
even if the throw is three
3’s

8 – Do not proceed or
criticism, interference or
disapproval

of others will result.

DiCe Divination ©Copyright 2019 Numerologist

PG 15

THE MEANINGS OF THE NUMBERS

7 – Unexpected difficulties of your own or gossip will interfere with your
ability to proceed with the matter.

6 – Suffering from a loss is likely if you proceed in the matter; the

omen is worse if three 2’s are thrown. Look at your priorities and
stick with them. Ask yourself: Why am I willing to escape my life by
going down this road? Your greatest problems are those that come
from other people – it’s likely someone is pulling you off your path.
You may want to do something not based on your best interests,
but this is a sign not to do it.

5 – The matter will be affected in a positive way through the help of a

person you do not yet know. Luck comes from your social life.

4 – Do not pursue this matter or unpleasantness will result. The

pursuit will not have a happy outcome

3 – Unexpected but favorable developments in your pursuit of this

matter, almost at once. This can only result from 3 ones.

Now that you’ve read about the meanings of each number, read on to learn how to
“roll the bones!”

THROWING

THE
DICE

THROWING THE DICE

You can choose to follow any of the “rules” you learned earlier to choose which hand to use:

Always throw the dice with your left hand

If you seek future guidance, throw with the

right hand

Use the left hand to throw if you’re asking

about people or relationships

Throw the dice with both hands if you’re

asking about a situation

Or, you can choose to disregard any of this and

do what feels right to you!
You also can use a cup of any kind if you don’t want
to use your hands.

A word about throwing height: You’ll want to hold your hand, hands or cup just
inches above the throwing surface and do a very soft roll, rather than throw them as
hard or as far as you would in a dice game.

Use your dice reading journal to record your throws. Was the advice
accurate? If you received a message of warning, did you heed it or ignore
it? What happened?

FORMULATING QUESTIONS TO GET

THE INFORMATION YOU NEED &
INCREASE ACCURACY
A dice throw can give you advice about situations surrounding you. You can also ask
questions about the results to expect from your past and present actions, which
helps you to foresee opportunities that you otherwise might have missed.

START BY ASKING THE RIGHT QUESTION.

Dice divination accuracy, like the accuracy of all fortune telling methods, is partly
dependent on how the question is asked.

It may seem obvious, but only ask yes-or-no questions for a yes-or-no throw. For the
other throws, get your question fixed firmly in your mind. Focus and then roll the dice.

If you have no question, pick a throw, clear your mind and look at the result – does
it apply to any situation in your life?

The universe always provides answers. They just may be answers to questions
you haven’t yet asked.

Don’t ask questions you already know the answer to.

RESPECT THE DICE.

Dice are used for games and gambling, but as you’ve read, they’ve been used
seriously as a divination method since ancient times. Don’t ask silly or nonsensical
questions and then expect the dice to be accurate when you need a real answer.

And, as you read earlier, appeal to your

chosen spiritual entity to help you throw
for accurate answers. Ask for divine
guidance.

Now, read on to learn about throwing fields

and how to interpret the dice that fall

within or outside of them.

YOUR
THROWING

FIELD
DiCe Divination ©Copyright 2019 Numerologist.com PG 21

YOUR THROWING FIELD

Some of these throws can be done anywhere you have a at surface and others
require a circle (remember, this can be drawn on a piece of paper or board or you

can use a paper doily, as we’ve used here) and there’s one that requires a box and

plate.

As you read about the throws, you’ll see that the circle and plate serve more
than one purpose. While they provide a throwing surface, in some throws

the
interpretation is affected by how many (if any) dice end up outside the throwing
field as follows:

1 DIE OUTSIDE – The matter can only be resolved with difficulty, no matter
what its number is.

2 DICE OUTSIDE – A great quarrel affects the matter, making achieving a favorable
result challenging.

3 DICE OUTSIDE – Your wish will be granted, but the granting of the wish is
likely to prove to be evil in the end, like with the genie in
the bottle.
You didn’t wish for something that benefits you. Change your wish.

ANY DICE FALLING ON THE FLOOR – Problems, worries or annoyances that will
happen soon.

ONE DIE LANDS ON TOP OF ANOTHER – You’ll soon receive a gift of great
significance.

And some throws have their own unique twists and turns!

In the next section, you’ll find the throws.

Some require you to add the dice together,
others take each dice individually. Some
require a circle or a box, some require
nothing but the dice. This is the fun part!
Grab your dice throwing kit and get started!

THE THROWS
You’ll find seven different throws here. Some use a field, some are just thrown on a
at surface and others use a box. Some add the numbers on each die together, and

some read each die on its own. We’ll let you know what you need for each throw,
right up front! You’ll be referring back to the number meanings from above for
some
of these throws.

There’s even a couple of throws that have their own traditional meanings instead of
the Numerological ones. Enjoy!

THROW #1: YES-OR-NO

What You’ll Need: Two Dice And A Flat Surface.

This is a very simple throw that requires

nothing more than two dice. Shake the
dice in your chosen hand(s) or a cup and
throw onto a at surface. Then, you’ll add
the number of dots on the dice together.
An even number result means, “Yes,” an
odd number means, “No.”

This is also great to use as a daily throw,

asking a top-of-mind question each day
and writing down your results.

Example Interpretation:
In this case, since these two dice added together, 5 + 1 = 6, and six is an
even number, your answer is, “Yes.

THE THROWS
THROW #2: PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE
What You’ll Need: Three Dice, A Flat Throwing Surface,
And If You Wish, A Cup.

When using this method, you’ll throw the

dice, but not add them together. Instead,
you’ll read each dice individually. This is
a three-dice throw, so to add some extra
fun, maybe you want to use the “Throw of
Venus,” and place all three dice in a cup
(a coffee cup or juice glass works well)
and shake them while saying 3 times
slowly:

Ah-dar… Ah-dar… ee-o… ad-dar…dee-er

Example Interpretation:
Dice don’t usually fall in a straight line, but these can still be read left-to-right:

Past – 4: Do not pursue this matter, unpleasantness will result. The

pursuit is not going to have a happy outcome. In the past, you went after
something that turned out unhappily.

Present – 4: Do not pursue this matter, unpleasantness will result. The

pursuit is not going to have a happy outcome. You are still going after
the
same thing and it’s not turning out well.
Future – 5: The matter will be affected in a positive way by the
assistance of a person you do not yet know. Luck comes from your social
life. Good
news! There’s someone to help you out of this dilemma, but the dice are
telling you to learn the lessons of the past. There may not be someone to
help you next time.

A special note when using the Throw of Venus: If this is a relationship

question using the throw of Venus, throw all three dice a second time and
judge the accuracy of the throw on the basis of the second omen.

And, if you are in an abusive relationship and 11 comes up, you know that
leaving is going to affect the situation, but if you know the person is so
abusive that they come after you, that’s when you want to throw a second
time .
DiCe Divination ©Copyright 2019 Numerologist.com PG 25

THE THROWS
THROW #3: FUTURE OUTCOME
What you’ll need: three dice and a circle.

This method predicts something that may happen in the near future. You’ll need
three dice and a circle drawn on a piece of paper or board, or as you’ll see below, a
paper doily works nicely.

After you throw the dice using your chosen hand, both hands or a cup, you’ll
be adding up the numbers and reducing them to a single digit to get your
answer. And, for this particular throw, there are traditional meanings used
instead of the Numerological ones you’ve learned:

1- Sorrow
2- Joy
3- A Gift
4- New Love
5- Silver Is Coming Your Way
6- Gold Is Coming Your Way
7- Someone Will Tell You A Secret
8- Three Good Things Will Happen to You
9- Your True Love Is, Indeed, True

Example Interpretation:
3 + 5 + 4 = 12. Then, further reduce the numbers: 1 + 2 = 3. Then look for
your interpretation. In this case, the number 3 means you’ll be receiving
a gift in the near future. Remember, gifts can take many forms, so
keep your eyes, ears, heart and mind open. This gift might not be
amaterial object.
DiCe Divination ©Copyright 2019 Numerologist.com PG 26

THE THROWS
THROW #4: THE FIELD AND THE CIRCLE
What you’ll need: Three dice and a circle.

This method uses three dice. To interpret the throw, you’re only going to look at the
number of dice that fall outside the circle. If none of the dice fall outside the
circle, it’s best to use another throw, like Throwing the Field, which you’ll learn
about next.

The interpretations for this special

throw are:
1 DIE OUTSIDE –

The matter can only be resolved with

difficulty, no matter what its number is.
2 DICE OUTSIDE –
A great quarrel affects the matter, making
getting a good result challenging.
3 DICE OUTSIDE –
Your wish will be granted, but the
granting of the wish is likely to prove to
be evil in the end, like with the genie in
the bottle. You didn’t wish for something
that benefits you. Change your wish.

Any dice fa ling on the oor – Problems, worries or annoyances that will happen
soon. One die lands on top of another – You’ll soon receive a present of great
significance.

Example Interpretation:
The inside circle is our circle, so any dice falling outside this onto the
lacy part will form our interpretation. In this case, we have two dice
outside the circle, so the interpretation is: A great quarrel affects the
matter, making getting a good result challenging.
DiCe Divination ©Copyright 2019 Numerologist.com PG 27

THE THROWS
THROW #5: THROWING ON THE FIELD
What you’ll need: Two or Three dice and a circle.

You can use two or three dice for this throw. For this sample, you’ll see three dice
used. With this throw, you’ll be adding up the numbers of dots on each die, add
them together, but do not reduce to a single digit. Do not add the dots of any
die that falls outside the circle.

There are some special

situations to consider when
using this

throw:
If one die lands outside the
circle, it is not counted.
If two dice land outside
the circle, shake again.
If all three dice land outside
the circle, that is a signal to
stop – your question cannot
be answered at this time.

Example Interpretation:
Most of the dice made it onto the field, but as you can see, there’s one
that fell outside. The rules of this throw say we don’t count this die. So,
that leaves us with 5 + 6 = 11. This throw advises: The matter with
which you are concerned will be affected greatly if you part from
someone you care for. No indication as to whether it is affected for
better or worse. This result is advising you to think carefully before
dissolving a relationship and consider everything that could happen
before acting.
DiCe Divination ©Copyright 2019 Numerologist.com PG 28

THE THROWS
THROW #6: THE PLATE METHOD
What You’ll Need: Three Dice, A Small Box Or Bowl And A
China Plate

Ready for a bit of different fun with dice? This throw has more ritual than the others.
To perform this throw:

STEP 1: Put three dice into small box or bowl.

STEP 2: Close your eyes

STEP 3: Make a wish

STEP 4: Pick up the dice, blow on them, and then roll them onto a china plate.

Any dice that fall off the plate doesn’t count. For this throw, you’ll be adding up
the number of dots on all the dice that fall within the plate.

Example Interpretation:
All three dice ended up on the plate, so you’ll add the dots together:

4 + 3 + 1 = 8, so our interpretation: Do not proceed with this matter or the

criticism, interference or disapproval of others will result.
DiCe Divination ©Copyright 2019 Numerologist.com PG 29

THE THROWS
THROW #7: THE VICTORIAN ROMANCE METHOD
This is the only throw for a certain purpose. This particular throw was reportedly

used during the Victorian era so, “A lady may discover her romantic fate.” How fun!
The original instructions and meanings are:

Take three dice, shake them well in the left hand, and then cast them out on a board
or table, on which you had previously drawn a circle with chalk, but never throw
on a Monday or Wednesday. (It’s not necessary to draw the circle with chalk – use
whatever circle you are using for other throws).

Also note that if any dice land outside the circle, the throw does not count, but does
predict something unpleasant. Read on!

3: A pleasing surprise
4: A disagreeable surprise
5 : A stranger who will prove a friend
6: Loss of property
7: Undeserved scandal
8: Merited reproach
9 : A wedding
10: A christening, at which some important
event will occur to you
11: A death that concerns you
12: A letter, speedily
13: Tears and sighs
14: A new admirer
15: Beware that you are not drawn into
some trouble or plot
16: A pleasant journey
17: You will either be on the water or have
dealings with those belonging to it, to your
advantage.
18: A great profit, rise in life, or some most
desirable good will happen almost
immediately.
DiCe Divination ©Copyright 2019 Numerologist.com PG 30

THE THROWS
The Victorians gave us other information to interpret the throw:

The answers to the dice are always fulfilled within nine days.
To show the same number twice at one trial (throw) means news from
abroad, be the number what it may.
If the dice roll over the circle, the throw goes for nothing (roll
again), but the occurrence indicates sharp words, and if they fall to
the oor, it is blows (a physical fight is in the air).
If one remains on top of the other, it is a present, of which the
recipient should take care – all may not be what it seems.

TIPS TO IMPROVE YOUR THROWS

Fantastic! You’ve finished reading this guide and have practiced a few throws.
What’s next?

As you’ve seen, dice divination is fun and easy. Here are some tips to get the most
out of rolling the bones!

TIP 1: Try the “Yes-or-No” throw on a daily basis

Did something happen during your day that you have doubts about or want to
know the outcome? Some questions could be: “Will I get the promotion I put in
for?” “Should I go out with my friends tomorrow night?” Or, just ask some fun,
accuracy-testing questions that will get pretty immediate answers, such as, “will
my train be on time tonight?” “Will X call tonight?”

Write your question and results in your journal and take a look once the day has

passed. How accurate was the advice you received?

TIP 2: Carry Your Dice with You

Do like some Romani Gypsies do and carry your dice with you! You can buy a little
pouch or just use a reclosable plastic bag. Have a quick yes-or-no decision to make?
Let the dice help you decide. Again, write down your questions and answers in your
journal.

TIP 3: Involve Friends and Family

Grab a friend and have them throw the dice. Take turns asking questions and
let the fun begin! Write down all questions and answers in your journal – take a
look in a week and see what’s happened. Or, in the case of the Victorian Romance
Throw, check back in nine days!

Your dice divination journey has just begun!

As you use these dice throws to not only explore your past, present, and future but
also to guide your immediate decisions, you’ll learn more about yourself.

Remember, the better you understand

yourself, the better decisions you will make
(even without the dice!), and the more
fulfilling your life will be. Have fun on your
journey of self-discovery! We’ll be right
here by your side along the way.

Many Blessings,
