METHODOLOGY ON CONSTRUCTION
OF PORTLAND CEMENT CONCRETE
PAVEMENT
PREPARED BY:
Methodology:
1. Clear the site of any debris, vegetation, or existing structures.
2. Grade and compact the subgrade with a roller to achieve the required
elevation and compaction.
3. Set up and secure formwork along the edges of the pavement area using
steel forms.
4. Place ready-mixed concrete within the formworks using the transit mixer.
5. Spread and consolidate the concrete using the concrete vibratory screed.
6. Utilize the bull float to level and smooth the surface of the pavement.
7. Finish the surface to the specified texture using rakes or brooms.
8. Apply curing compound to ensure proper concrete hydration.
9. Allow the concrete to cure according to plans and specifications.
10. Remove formworks and insert dowels by drilling and coating with epoxy
coating
11. Implement traffic control measures using cones, signs, and barrier systems
until concrete has fully cured and pavement is ready for use.
