your analytical skillset to derive meaningful insights from data provided by a hypothetical
corporation.

About the Dataset


The dataset you will engage with has been fictionalized for the purposes of this exam, attributed to
an entity known as "NinjaFast Company." Your objective is to assist the company in data optimization
and examination to extract strategic insights. The data corpus encompasses contributions from
three pivotal departments: Logistics, Marketing, and Finance, detailed across various sheets:

- Field: Contains metadata explaining dataset attributes.


- Customer Info: Furnished by the Marketing Department with customer demographics.
- Order: A compilation of sales data, courtesy of the Logistics, Sales, and Finance
departments.
- ID_Name: A reference for interpreting certain key identifiers within the dataset.
- Report: A dedicated space for presenting specific components of your analytic findings.

The Dataset for this assessment can be downloaded on the e-learning portal.

Submission
Finalize your analytical process by uploading the completed Excel workbook to the designated e-

Assessment Questions
Question 1 (5 points)

Refer to "Field" sheet: Disaggregate the existing column into two distinct columns named “Field” and
“Description” as illustrated below:

Question 2 (20 points)

Refer to “Customer Info” sheet:

2a. Clean the dataset (Customer Name) and ensure there is no duplication in this customer dataset.

2b. Populate "Email Provider" with designations like “Gmail, Yahoo, Live,” (5 points)

2c. How many customers are using each type of email? Answer in the table provide, using Excel
formula. (5 points)

2d. Provide the Cities Name and Number of customers for the Top 3 Cities that have the most
customers. Use Pivot Table. (5 points)

Question 3 (40 points)

Refer to “Order” Sheet:

3a. Replace 4 columns - “Delivery Status_ID”, “Late_delivery_Risk_ID”, “Category ID”, “Department


ID” – with the names according to data in sheet “ID_Name”. (5 points)

3b. Split the column “Market” into 3 columns respectively, namely “Market”, “Order City”, ”Order
Country”. An example is provided as below. (5 points)
3c. What are the percentage of each delivery status? Visualize the data and add your comments to
bring the issue of Delivery status to attention for your manager. Provide your answers in “Report”
sheet. (10 points)

3d. Using Data Analysis Toolpak in Excel, create a Descriptive Statistics table for “Sales” and “Order
Profit per Order”. What is the average order, maximum, and minimum values in these 2 columns?
Provide your answers in “Report” sheet, including the Statistics table. (10 points).

3e. List down the top Categories that contribute to 80% of total sales. The answer is provided in 4
columns: “Category Name”, “Count of Order”, “Total sales”, “% Sales contribution”. Provide your
answer in the “Report” Sheet. (10 points)

Question 4 (25 points)

Join some fields from “Customer Info” to “Order” to answer below questions, and provide your
answer in “Report” Sheet:

4a. Calculate the sales and sales contribution per customer segment. Use Pivot Table and create a
correspondent visualization for this. (10 points)

4b. Calculate the average order value (AOV) based on each customer segments and department. You
can use Pivot Table. Which department has the highest AOV of each customer segment? (5 points)

4c. Provide a correspondence visualization with highlighted department to bring attention to the
upper manager (10 points)
Question 5 (10 points)

Freely explore the data. Create at least 4 charts to visualize what you have found. Provide your
insights and recommendations to the upper manager. (10 points)
