They have done this prediction, as the more effort the cyclist put in, the more energy

will be
needed by the muscles while they produce lactic acid. Therefore anerobic respiration will take
place. Eventually due to oxygen debt the muscles will need more oxygen as more energy will be
released by respiration and muscles will contract most.
The untrained Cyclists Lactic acid concentration is higher then the trained, this is because as the
time increases so does the effort. At 8 minutes of 30% effort 4 Au of lactic acid concentration has
happened...... Even after the exercise the lactic acid concentration is increasing. This is done to
pay off the oxygen debt

Anerobic respiration is the release of small amount of energy by breakdown of glucose in the
absence of oxygen.

The trained cyclists are used to such cycling conditions whereas the untrained are not,
the trained cyclists have less anerobic respiration and more aerobic respiration this
results in the use of less lactic acid as more oxygen is being supplied to the muscles.
The trained Cyclists have more stamina / cardio practice. therefore they are in a less
oxygen debt. This is proven in the graph as during the exercise the trained cyclist have
a smooth lactic acid concentration from 2.6-4.6 whereas the untrained range from 3-7.5.
Even after the exercise the cyclist need less time to pay off the oxygen debt to
reproduce the lactic acid.
Respiration is the breakdown of food to release energy to cells

biceps contracts ;
pulls on forearm / radius ;
ref to the tendon ;
bends / flexes, the arm ;
triceps relaxes ;
As aerobic respiration is happening therefore heart beats faster
to send oxygenated blood to parts of the body, the muscles will
need more oxygen which will also increase the rate of respiration.
There is a steep increase as there is more muscle contraction.
As the man's oxygen debt was not fully repaid, there is also need
of extra oxygen after exercise. As there was anerobic respiration
happening in the exercise lactic acid was produced, and to
reproduce it oxygen will be needed in livers too.
