A: Good morning, B. What are you reading?

B: Oh, hello, A. I’m just reading a magazine.

A: Hmm, is this Clean Eating magazine?
B: You know this?
A: Yeah, I have read it for, ermm, maybe 4 or 5 times, just to find many new recipes. It teaches me
how to cook healthy meals for my family.
B: Really, that’s so interesting, I accidentally saw this magazine on Internet four days ago, it is quite
useful. I read the magazine to cook many healthy diets for myself. Clean Eating also provides me with
a lot of information, like how an unhealthy diet and lack of physical activity can be risky to our health.
A: I agree with you.
B: And this magazine also gives us advice about yoga, sports and… Oh! It provides us with the benefit
of healthy diet as well.
A: You know, we should eat more healthy diet, it is good for us. Did you see the news on TV last
night. The scientists said the obesity rate is on the rise over the world.
B: Yes, I saw it, too. I remember that 13% of adults in the world are obese and two-in-five… No…
one-in-five children, globally, are overweight.
A: That’s exactly what they said. Eating unhealthy food is one of the main cause for the obesity and
other diseases. I have one friend who are trying to lose weight, he has to struggle with many diseases
since he ate too much fat, and he didn’t take exercise properly. Whenever he goes to public place, he
looks unconfident, and I suppose he is unhealthy because sometimes he need to go to hospital.
B: Poor him! I think he should have a wise diet plan.
A: He told me that his nutritionist gave him some healthy diet plan, including essential nutrition such
as fluid, protein and vitamins. He no longer adds fast food or soft drinks in his daily meal, instead, he
tries to eat more vegetables, fruits and grains.
B: I agree, these diets will prevent him from heart diseases, diabetes as well as cancer. But does he
need sugar intake in his daily meals?
A: Well, his nutritionist said he shouldn’t consume more than 36 grams sugar per day, especially free
sugar.
B: I used to have much free sugar intake from drinks in the past, now I don’t consume anymore
because it contributes to unhealthy weight gain and tooth decay. I only eat natural sugar in honey and
fruit juice instead.
A: True! And leaving off all the candies and snacks.
B: Apart from diet, we should take exercise as well because it helps us get fit, strong…and stay
positive.
A: Absolutely! We can join a social activity or a sport club to stay healthy and make new friends, that
would be very enjoyable.
