WH QUESTION WORDS

Quais são as wh- questions?

As question words mais conhecidas do inglês são: what, when, where, why, who e how. Cada uma
delas tem uma aplicabilidade.
What: esta talvez seja a question word mais utilizada e também a mais versátil. É usada para
perguntar “o que”. Por exemplo: “what are you doing later today?” (O que você vai fazer mais tarde?).
When: o when é utilizado para fazer questões temporais. Sua tradução é “quando”. Por exemplo:
“When is your birthday?” (quando é seu aniversário?).
Where: esta question word é utilizada para falar de localização. Por exemplo: “Where is the nearest
subway station?” (onde fica a estação de metrô mais próxima?).
Why: why é uma question word utilizada para questionar as razões de algo. Sua tradução é “por
que”. Por exemplo: “Why is he running?” (por que ele está correndo?).
