Limitations of Primary Storage
• Limited capacity because the cost per bit of storage
• is high
• Volatile - data stored in it is lost when the electric power is turned
off or interrupted
Secondary Storage
• ß The use of a single spiral track makes optical disks an ideal storage medium for reading large blocks of
sequential data, such as music.
