Question 1: Summarize the main contents that guest speaker presented/shared.

The first speaker at MWG told a narrative about his experience working in the
department of e-commerce, where he was responsible for building websites for
UI/UX. There are three primary branches of the MWG E-commerce Department. The
Media and Content Office is the first division, and it is in charge of producing content
for livestreaming and videos on social media sites. The second branch is the sales
office, which is in charge of responding to customer calls or texts about the items. The
third branch is the product development and SEO office, which is in charge of making
sure the website is acceptable and has the best UI/UX and driving traffic to it.

The second speaker is from the HRM Team, who discusses the core values, rewards
and incentives, and culture of the MWG. MWG's basic core value include being
whole-hearted to customers, integrity, affection and teamwork, honesty in dealing with
money and people, and a love of what they do. For the reminder to all employees,
these basic values are written down and posted outside of every MWG office, as well
as in the elevator. Additionally, MWG prioritizes a strong work ethic rather than
talents.

The last speaker is from HRM as well, but focused on the Product Section of Bách
Hoá Xanh. The Bach Hoa Xanh product part is broken into three other main section.
The first one is the supermarket section, where employees are in charge of handling
client complaints as well as sales and product display. The second section, known as
the Industry Division, is in responsibility of organizing the procurement of goods at

the most competitive prices and product sales. The Operation Division, the last one,
consists of six more divisions: the Purchasing Office, the Industry Operation Office,
the Industry Display Office, the Operation Optimization of Supermarket, the Logistics
- Backend Office, and the Audit - Backend Office.

Question 2: What lessons did you learn from the guest speaker’s presentation and
sharing?

After this trip, I understood that an operation manager's duties went beyond simply
sitting in an office; they also had to spend time looking over even the smallest
department within an organization to assess the coordination of the business.
Additionally, E-commerce platforms have a full system in place where each
department closely collaborates, and these systems are organized effectively and
efficiently with the aid of internal web tools and CRM. It is not just the customers
buying their products and they earn the revenue from it, but it is the customer's
experience with MWG's goods and services is the top priority. As a result, the
inventory staff meticulously records the number of products to match the systems,
working with the delivery team to the risk management team where they must respond
fast to the wrong products shipped to customers. What truly surprises me about MWG
is that, in contrast to other retail establishments, MWG allows returning defective
goods from customers and replaces them with new ones regardless of the reason for
their returns. These defective products will be given to another team, who will find the
flaws and either correct them or return them to the brand. This has reduced the time
required for the entire procedure while still satisfying the consumer. To ensure this
synchronization, the operation managers should be the ones with organized thinking,
keen attention to detail, and flexibility.
