Proudly Presents
Summer 2008 - The Strauss Family
Come enjoy a free eight-part production made for British TV
which tells the lives and loves of the talented Strauss family
featuring their popular waltzes performed by the London
Symphony Orchestra.
All episodes run an hour each and begin at 7pm.
11 June Episode I – Anna. Johann “Papa” Strauss,
Sr. marries a woman he finds is carrying his child - however
his life takes another turn when yet another attractive woman
enters his life.
Episode II – Emilie. “Papa” Strauss, Sr. decides to
leave his family for a new life with a woman named Emilie.
This forces the young Johann “Schanni” Strauss, Jr. to try
and support his mother and siblings.
25 June Episode III- Schanni. Schanni, the eldest
son of “Papa” Strauss, Sr., finally attempts a life in music.
His jealous father “Papa” tries to end his dreams by hiring
hecklers to ruin the debut of the future “Waltz King“.
Episode IV – Revolution. Josef Strauss - Schanni’s
younger brother - enlists in the revolution and ask his brother
to write a march. Meanwhile “Papa” Strauss -- a loyalist to
the crown -- must decide if he should finally leave the coun-
try.
