The theme of the research work is “ESTEXIT. Does Estonia have to leave the EU?”

The chosen subject in author's opinion is topical, since the decision of the British government to
hold a referendum on the country's membership in the EU, as well as the results of this
referendum may in the future or even now have a strong impact on other EU countries.

What's more, is that the author intends to associate his future life with political and diplomatic
activities.

The purpose of this research paper is to try to find an answer to the main question: does Estonia
have to leave the EU?

The objectives of this study are as follows:

 Explore pros and cons of the UK's egress from the EU in the opinion of analysts and
experts;
 To study the terms of Estonia's accession to the EU in 2004;
 Explore the pros and cons of Estonia's membership in the EU;
 Explore the possibility and conditions for Estonia to exit the EU;
 Explore possible pros and cons of Estonia's egress from the EU;
 To conduct a survey among high-school students of NKL, their parents, and also some
other residents of Estonia;
 Analyze the collected information and formulate the answer to the main question of the
research - is it worth leaving the EU?

Research methods:

 Study of the literature.

 Analysis of articles in the media.
 Surveys.
 Analysis of the surveys.
The results of the research as well as the results of the survey showed that Estonia will not be
able to live independently after having left the EU, as our economy is not as strong and
influential as the UK economy. Also, after having left the European Union, Estonia loses all
subsidies from the EU. Thus, we can conclude that Estonia should not leave the EU.
