Dear Ms. Bowker,

I know this time of year can be very busy, as you are preparing your next issue for publication. I hope all has been

well since we last saw each other at the Product Innovation Banquet in Manhattan. I couldn’t believe the level of

talent and commitment of all the guest speakers.

I am writing to propose a feature article for the Boston Globe about MowTown’s new lawnmower that has been

making waves in the local community. I am happy to announce our new RoMo robotic lawnmower, which has

been causing quite a stir among homeowners in the area.

The RoMo is cutting-edge industrial equipment that uses advanced technology to navigate and maintain laws.

In addition to its impressive technology, the RoMo is also environmentally friendly, running on solar power

which eliminates the need for gasoline and the associated emissions. The result is a perfectly manicured lawn

with minimal effort on the part of the homeowner.

I believe that a feature on the RoMo would be of great interest to readers of the Boston Globe, particularly those

who are looking for ways to make their lawn care more efficient and sustainable.

I have enclosed a press kit containing further details about the RoMo, and I would be happy to arrange an

interview if you are interested in pursuing this article.

Thank you for your time and consideration. Feel free to contact me at any time with questions you may have.

Sincerely,

Mar Huguet

MowTown Announces World

Renowned Lawnmower
First Lawnmower to be 100% Electric and Solar Powered, bringing
Better Quality and Efficiency to Homeowners

CAMBRIDGE, MA. – Dec 12, 2022 – MowTown, the

leading manufacturer of industrial landscaping products, announced

today the launch of the RoMo, the first lawnmower to be 100%

electric and solar powered. The powerful and innovative RoMo

provides better quality and efficiency to homeowners.

The RoMo is all-electric and 100% solar-powered. This

feature allows customers to save on gasoline, while also protecting the

environment. According to Ferguson Jenkins, Ph.D. with the US

EPA, one gas lawn mower emits 89 pounds of CO2 and 34 pounds of other pollutants per year. The

lawnmower includes four lights for night operation and six TrueSense cameras to cut grass at night

while watching real-time progress on your smart device.

The RoMo’s camera and ultrasonic proximity sensors, including RADAR and optical sensors,

keep the lawnmower safely on course. With “computer vision,” the RoMo can detect objects,

obstacles, and changes in terrain up to 100 feet away, and customers set their sensitivity detection

preferences from their mobile devices. If a ball or a pet jumps in front, the RoMo instantly detects it

and stops all motion.

“With our unique lawnmower that is all-electric and 100% solar powered, the RoMo lets you

keep your front lawn garden fresh with advanced technology and style,” said Larry Mullen Jr,

MowTown’s senior VP of engineering. “As consumers seek products with top performance standards,

the RoMo is ideal for homeowners with busy lifestyles and a large front yard. Whether you’re ready to

start caring for your lawn or just haven’t gotten around to it, the RoMo gives homeowners better

quality, efficiency, and an environmentally friendly way to keep their lawns fresh.”

5 Tips for Maintaining a Perfect Lawn

By: The Gardening Girl

With spring around the corner, it’s time to start preparing that

beautiful lawn of yours to impress your neighbors. After the winter season,

your lawn has come across a whole lot of damage – snow mold, desiccation,

and road salts – and getting that ready for spring can be a nightmare.

Your lawn can only take so much of Mother Nature’s brutality, but

don’t let that stress get in the way of your spring cleanup. We promise, with

these tips, you’ll be making all your pesky neighbors wish they had your

perfect lawn.

1. Address Aggresive Weaves – Early!

It’s best to deal with weaves in early spring, as invasive and aggressive

weaves will only get worse as daylight hours increase over the summer.

Trust us, once they grow and their roots strengthen, they’ll be impossible

to pull out. The best way, however, to minimize weeds in your lawn is

through good cultural practices, like not overwatering, allowing mow

clippings to return, and skipping fertilization.

2. Never Fertilize Too Early

The best time for fertilizing is autumn, as it helps give plants the food that they need to build up their root

systems. Never, and I repeat, never make the mistake of fertilizing too early in the spring, because it will divert

the plant’s energy into leaf development too soon. It’s best to begin fertilizing just as the grass is beginning to

grow green.

3. Water Properly

Any pro will tell you that the best way to water your lawn is deeply, and less frequently. While it may be

tempting to give your lawn a quick watering every day, giving the grass a long soak once in a while will

encourage roots to grow deeper into the soil. How do you know when it’s time to water, you ask? When the

grass has started to look a little grayish and the blades don’t bounce back.

4. Mow High and Frequently

The general rule of thumb is to never cut off more than a third of the

grass blade. Why? Mowing your lawn too short may seem like a time

saver, but this will damage your grass and allow weeds to set root –

which is a no-go. If you let your lawn grow a bit taller, it’ll result in

healthier grass.

5. Get Your Soil Tested

Yes, fertilizer, watering, and mowing produce great results, but some lawns are stubborn. If you still have

trouble maintaining a perfect lawn, consider getting your soil professionally tested to get answers about the pH

balance and nutrient levels in the dirt.

Now don’t panic. Sure, that was a lot of information for a lawn newbie, but you’ll have Mother

Nature and your pesky neighbors wishing they struck a pot of gold like you did. So trust us, it’s worth it. In

the comments below, tell us your favorite outdoor activity that gets you ready for spring.

Subject: Story Idea: Start Your Fourth of July Off With a Bang

Dear Ms. Bowker,

With the Fourth of July around the corner, your readers are going to want to find ways to host the

best party their block has ever seen. With the winter season destroying their lawn and hundreds of creative

recipe ideas, it’s tough hosting a Fourth of July party that will impress their pesky neighbors.

I’d like to propose a story for your June issue: “Start Your Fourth of July Off With a Bang” The

article could feature the RoMo, the first lawnmower to be 100% electric and solar powered., along with a

“Ten Fourth of July Recipes That’ll Shock Your Neighbors” list and a Spotify “Fourth of July” party

playlist. Here’s why the RoMo will interest your readers:

● All-Electric and 100% Solar Powered – The RoMo is both all-electric and 100% solar
powered, allowing you to save on gasoline, and help better the environment with no toxic
fumes and a smaller carbon footprint.
● It Drives Itself – With autonomous operation features, the RoMo allows for no buried wires
or “beacons” with its GPS-enabled feature for super-precise self-navigation.
● It’s Safe – With a top-performing camera and ultrasonic proximity sensors, the RoMo can
detect objects, obstacles, and changes in terrain up to 100 feet away.

If you’re interested, I can provide high-resolution photos here, and a RoMo to test. We also have

our mowing experts who can share their strategies and tips. If you have any questions or would like a

RoMo to demo, please let me know. I’ll call you this week to discuss this idea and see how we can move

forward. In the meantime, please find attached more details in the news release below.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
