India - Japan Skills Connect
The Conference on “Japan India Skill Connect:
Bolstering Bilateral Collaboration” was organized
on 4th August 2023 at Indian Embassy, VCC
Auditorium, Japan. The Panel Discussion was
moderated by Mr. Sougata Roy Choudhury,
Executive Director, Confederation of Indian
Industry (CII). Dr. Abhilasha Gaur, COO, ESSCI
participated in the panel discussion with other
panelists- Mr Shigeo Matsutomi, Senior Vice
President, Japan Intern (JITCO) and Mr. Sota Koide,
Deputy Director, Japan International Cooperation
Agency (JICA) HQ. The valuable insights were given

s Seminar by FLO and Young FICCI
The seminar “AI is the new Internet” organized
by FICCI Ladies Organization (FLO) and Young
FICCI Ladies Organization (YFLO) on 3rd August,
2023 at FICCI Federation House, Delhi. Mr. Rajiv
Makhni, Jounalist and Mr. Ansh Mehra, Product
Marketer, Zuddl gave significance to the event by
sharing fruitful opinions on the evolution of AI
functions, chatbots and other mid journey tools
are bringing in the electronics industry, they also
highlighted future advancements of the Artificial
Intelligence industry. Vishakha Chaudhary and
Ridhima Sharma were the representatives of
ESSCI at the event.
Workshop on Indigenous Capacity

Development including Research on low GWP chemicals
The workshop on Indigenous Capacity Development
including research on low GWP chemicals was organized
by Ozone Cell of Ministry of Environment, Forests &
Climate Change, Government of India (MOEFCC) on 4th
August 2023 at The Theatre Convention Centre, India
Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The dignitaries discussed and
shared their views on the factors that how low GWP
chemicals can be used as alternatives to HFCs during
implementation of the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal
Protocol.

Mr. Varun Bhatia, VP - Projects & Learning Solutions, ESSCI

s Government Industrial Training Institute, Pusa
ESSCI organized the workshop on Apprenticeship
at Government Industrial Training Institute, Pusa
on 4th August 2023.
Mr. Saleem Ahmed, Senior VP, ESSCI spoke about
the progressions and benefits apprenticeship
offers to the industry. Later on, the discussion
continued on making onboarding apprentices a
smoother process. Removing roadblocks and
facilitating the right skills for the right jobs. Mr.
Nitesh Kumar, Head-Placement &
Apprenticeship, ESSCI was also present at the
workshop.

Development and Entrepreneurship in the North East
The event with the theme “Transforming Lives, Building
Futures: Skill Development and Entrepreneurship in the
Northeast” was organized at Kaushal Bhawan, New Delhi
on 8th August 2023. The event got significance through
the exchange of ideas between Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan,
Hon’ble Minister of Skill Development &
Entrepreneurship, Mr. Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Hon’ble
Minister of State, MSDE, Mr. G. Kishan Reddy, The Union
Tourism Minister with

doyens of the Skill Eco-System.

s Smart Lighting India Summit
The Smart Lighting India Expo has been organized for three days
from 10th – 12th August, 2023 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
The event was marked with the Inauguration by the Hon’ble Chief
Guest Dr. Ashok Chandra Panda, Hon’ble Minister, Department of
Science & Technology. Mr. Prakash Barjatia, Mr. Anuj Mathur, Mr.
Anil Kumar Chaudhary, Dr. Milind Pande, Ms. Mercy Epao, Dr.
Abhilasha Gaur and Mr. Umesh Unnikrishnan along with other key
dignitaries also attended the event.
In the summit a CEO Roundtable Discussion on “The Role of Smart
Lighting Solutions for Sustainable Energy Efficiency” was also
organized. It was attended by stalwarts and experts of lighting
industry. Dr. Abhilasha Gaur, COO, ESSCI participated as a
panelist and shared their valuable insights that the Council seeks
to develop skilled manpower for the lighting sector across the
product life cycle and will be happy to collaborate for Developing
standards and certification in the proposed COE for smart
lighting. Mr. Saleem Ahmed, Senior VP, ESSCI also attended the
event.
B20 Business Impact Summit

ESSCI’s Vice President- Govt. & Industry Connect,
Mr. Praveen Koul, attended the CII-IOE-Deloitte B20
Business Impact Summit organized on 24th August 2023 at
Lalit Hotel, New Delhi.
The event was on Transforming B20 recommendations
into Policy action for Tackling skills shortages and Skills
anticipation for business competitiveness.
The high-level speakers who were present at the event
exchanged their thoughts to bring out the
recommendations for the policymakers to fulfill the
industrial demand of skilled workers.

organized - CHINTAN SHIVIR on Enhancing Apprenticeship
Engagement on 11th August 2023, at Kaushal Bhawan, New Delhi.
The worthy opinions on apprenticeship and DBT Launch shared by
the Hon’ble Chief Guests Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of
Education, India and Mr. Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary, MSDE gave

NAPS Webinar organized by ESSCI

The Electronics Sector Skills Council of India organized a
webinar to spread awareness about National
Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS).
The webinar was moderated by Mr. Nitesh Kumar, Head-
Placement and Apprenticeship, ESSCI. Mr. Rupam
Chatterjee, Cluster Head (South & East), Exide Industries
Ltd. Acknowledged the 250+ participants with the
importance and progressions of Apprenticeship during a
productive interaction with them. Further, the Council
also succeeded to make an effective interaction with the
speaker and the participants.

The Electronics Sector Skills Council of India organized a POSH
(Prevention of Sexual Harrasement) Awareness Meeting for the
employees of the Council on 7th September 2023 at ESSCI’s Head
Office, Delhi. This meeting was an initiative to enhance the
environment at the workplace through mentioning the safety
precautions and habits.
Taiwan Trade Mission:

Smart City with Taiwan Technology
TAITRA organized an event to launch Taiwan Products in
wireless network while promoting Taiwan Technology
for Smart City on 11th September 2023 at Taj Hotel,
Yeshwanthpur, Bangalore. Ms. Rohini Nag, RM, ESSCI
had participated to connect with these industries to
collaborate for capacity building for the upcoming huge
manpower requirements in the domain.

being hosted by Electronic Industries Association of India-

International Exhibition, during 13-15 September 2023.
The increasingly strong momentum for creating a semiconductor,
electronics manufacturing and design ecosystem in India, this

s PCB Tech Conference
India PCB Tech Event - a joint initiative by Electronic
Industries Association of India-ELCINA, IPCA (Indian
Printed Circuit Association) and Messe Muenchen India, is
organized in conjunction with Electronica India and
Productronica India at Bengaluru International Exhibition,
during 13-15 September 2023.
Session on "A resilient domestic PCB industry for a
self- reliant ESDM eco-system" was conducted where
Mr. Varun Bhatia, VP- Project & Learning Solutions,
ESSCI participated as a panelist and shared his insights
about opportunities and challenges for building the
workforce for PCB Industry in India.
Special Industry Get Together

A Special Industry Get Together based on "Felicitating the First
Move in Semiconductors" held at Hotel Lalit Ashok, Bengaluru on
14th September 2023.
Mr. Priyank M Kharge, Hon’ble Minister of Electronics, IT & BT

The Ministry of Rural Development organized DDU-
GKY workshop on 15th September 2023 at NASC
Complex, Delhi.
Team ESSCI attended the workshop with MSDE,
NCVET, SSCs, NSDC, SRLMs and SSDMs for sensitizing
the assessment process and policies for ensuring a
smooth flow of data for carrying out external
assessment and on the portals.

The Drone Federation of India organized Bharat
Drone Shakti Pradarshan 2023 in partnership with
Indian Air Force (IAF) on 25th-26th September 2023
at Hindon Air Force Station, Ghaziabad.
Mr. Rajnath Singh, Defence Minister of India was
the cheif Guest at the event. The event was based
on showcasing the potential of the Indian Drone
Industry with over 50+ live aerial demonstrations
and 75+ static displays of drones.

17th August 2023 at ESSCI’s Head Office, Okhla, New

Location Head CSR, WNS aiming at building up the
skilled workforce and create employment
opportunities thorugh Career Readlines Program for
Under Priviliged Graduate Students under WNS’s

The Project Launch Event of Revamping of Electronics
Mechanic and Computer Operator & Programming
Assistant Labs was organized by the collaboration of
ESSCI and ABB on 22nd August 2023 at Government ITI
Peenya, Bnagalore.
Dr. Abhilasha Gaur, COO, ESSCI has highlighted the major
purpose of MoU signed between ESSCI and ABB is to
revamp the EM & COPA labs for the enhancement of
infrastructural appearence and installation of latest
equipments such as operating systems, software,
hardware & much more to facilitate students with better
hands on training and conductive environment.

ESSCI India signed a Memorandum of
Understading with Kalinga University (KU),
Naya Raipur on 25th August 2023. The
collaboration was signed between Dr.

Gandhi, Registrar, KU to design and implement
skill development programmes for the
emerging technologies in the electronics
sector to create emplyment opportunities for
the students to meet the industrial demand for
skilled workforce.

ESSCI India signed a Memorandum of Understading
with Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) on 31st
August 2023 at SV University, Tirupati. This MoU
was signed between Dr. Abhilasha Gaur, COO,
ESSCI and Prof. OMD Hussain, Registrar, SVU in the
presence of Prof. K Raja Reddy, Vice Chancellor,
SVU and
Prof. S VijayBhaskar Rao, Dean, SVU.
The collaboration is majorly aimed to execute Skill
Development programs and the CoE establishment.

ESSCI signed a Memorandum of Understanding
with Additional Skills Acquisition Programme (ASAP
Kerala) on 19th September 2023 at ESSCI's Head
Office, Okhla, Delhi.
The MoU was signed between Dr. Abhilasha Gaur,
COO, ESSCI and Dr. Usha Titus, Chairperson & MD,
ASAP Kerala. The collaboration is purposely aimed to
build a skilled workforce to fulfill the emerging
demands in Electronics System Design and
Manufacturing sector of Kerala.

ESSCI India signed a Memorandum of
Understanding with the Department of
Technical Education, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh
on 21st September at Lalit Hotel, New Delhi.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Abhilasha Gaur,
COO, ESSCI and IAS, Ms. C Naga Rani, Director,
Technical Education. The collaboration was
purposely aimed at skilling the youth of
Andhra Pradesh and fulfilling the industrial
demand of skilled workforce in the ESDM
sector.

Training Centre
(SIC) Certificate Distribution
Ceremony at NSIC, Delhi
Electronics Sector Skills Council of India has
successfully concluded the certification of 206
students enrolled in Coding & Programing, Big Data,
Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things at NSIC,
Delhi under the Samsung Innovation Campus -
Samsung India’s Flagship CSR Program. The students
were mentored and trained by the highly skilled
faculties at Central Tool Room & Training Centre.
The Certificate distribution ceremony took place in
the presence of Mr. Saroj Apato, VP- Strategic
Partnerships, Mr. Arun Raju, DGM CSR Samsung and
Mr. Samarendra Behera, Chief Manager, Samsung
Electronics who handed over the certificates to the
deserving participants on 1st Aug 2023.
