Ahmad Yasin Al Azka

Persuasive speech

Good morning, everyone… my name is Azka, Ahmad Yasin Al Azka. today I’m going to talk
about alleviating humanitarian crises such as war and conflicts. To the people of the world
that are listening in this very moment, I greet you in peace. Ms Rigopoulos, Prime Minister
of Australia, The Emperor of Russia, The Great Kaiser of Germany, who spared their busy
day to attend with us today. I greet you in peace. And to my fellow friends whom I love and
whom I don’t, I greet you in peace. Before going through my words, I’d like to apologise and
warn you for the inconvenience which might be caused by a potentially disturbing content.

Also, I would like to pay my respect to elders past and present, as they already know the
bitterness of war as they have experience one and even fought in one.

The discussion about war always left us to a question of “what causes war?” and “what
impact does it create?” Truth be told, Humans are the problem. That’s right, we are the
problem. Selfish intention to thrive by stepping on others, results in war. Heart-consuming
greed wanting more 54\
and more resources, results in war. Wake up! However challenging life might get, an act out
of immorality can never be acceptable. War solves nothing! Wake up! Wake up to reality,
nothing ever goes as planned in this accursed world the longer you live the more you will
realise that the only thing exist in this world are merely pain, suffering and futility.
Everywhere you look in this world, wherever there is light, there will always be shadows to
be found as well. As long as there is a concept of victors, the vanquished will also exist. The
selfish intent of wanting to preserve peace, initiates war. And hatred is born. We are but
men, driven to revenge in the name of justice. But if revenge is called justice, then that
justice breeds yet more revenge and it becomes a chain of hatred. Religion, ideology,
resources, land, spite, love or just because. No matter how pathetic the reason, it’s always
enough to start a war. World War, war amongst nation to even war amongst self. Russian
one-sided annihilation against Ukraine, Israeli continuous harassment against Palestine, The
Yemeni civil war and many more in the history of mankind. Studies have shown that the
Russia and Ukraine war has succeeded in affecting the whole world, by creating a
catastrophic food shortage around the world. Now think about those who are already in
poverty. Millions of women and children in displacement have no access to healthy food, or
even food in general. The Yemeni Civil War according to UNICEF, emergency levels of food
insecurity could affect up to 5 million in 2021, that number is now 16 million. It has become
worldwide; I say congratulation Mr. President.
In this very moment, as we speak, a war is breaking out. But in order for it to be successful,
the authority, they cut the tongue of those who speaks and blinded the eyes of those who sees.
You must say nothing, say nothing! about the present situation of the world, say nothing about
hunger, say nothing about justice, say nothing about rights. But them in powers, those tyrants. They
may speak, they may raise their voices eh! Our brothers and sisters on the other side of the world
are eating dust, in the smoke, victimized by the barbaric act of the war, lost their lives, lost their
home, and surviving each day by the mere reasons to see sunrise tomorrow. In the Hope that one
day the suffering days will be over.

Well watch this comrade, I will not be silenced. Not this individual. No silence for me. Why? Because
We can, because we can, and if we can we do. The strongest of voices are voices of people that had
come together to unite.

As of today, we are soldiers. They need us. The soldier needs us. Casualty is everywhere, Death is
everywhere, Collisions everywhere.

How many sons, how many fathers, have been murdered, hung, imprisoned, shot dead, guilty or
innocent, for the sake of war?

How many daughters and widows left to run on the streets because the man has gone to war and
are never to comeback.

Every dream, every hope, every moment of happiness. None of it matters as you lie bleeding out in
the battlefield, none of it changes what a speeding bullet does to a body.

We all die!

But does that mean our lives are meaningless? Does that mean that there is no point in our being
born? What about our comrade that died? What about their lives? Were they meaningless? They
were not! Their memory serves as an example `to us all! Their lives have meaning because we refuse
to forget them! And as we ride to our certain death, we trust our successor to do the same for us.
Because my soldiers do not buckle or yield when faced with the cruelty of this world!

At the end of the day, we always want to see the sunset and a sunrise tomorrow. Our brothers and
sisters want to see the sunrise tomorrow. And as we are capable of helping them, donating to them,
raising our voice for them, to the extent of joining forces and fighting with them, we do. And so, we
shall be the sunrise for their tomorrow.
