1. An English-speaking teenage fashion magazine
is running a competition about fashion and
appearance now and in the past. In small groups,
prepare a presentation about fashionable clothes,
hairstyles and other trends now and 30 years ago.
The best presentation will be published on the
magazine’s website.
2. The European Union is running a competition for
teenagers who like photography. To participate,
you have to choose 3–4 photos of the landscape
and nature that foreigners associate with Poland.
You should comment on why these photos are or
aren’t accurate. The best photos will be presented
in the EU offices.
3. In groups of 2–3 students, act out situations/
dialogues to show various examples of non-verbal
communication. Explain the meaning of the
symbols and give some tips on how to improve
your communication skills.

1. Your teacher has asked you to work in groups
of 2–3 students to prepare a presentation
about multiple intelligence in the workplace.
Imagine that each of you totally lacks one of the
intelligence types. In your presentation, explain
what type of occupation each of you would be
good/bad at. Comment on the possible ways of
overcoming this lack of abilities.
2. An international computer magazine is organising
a competition for students interested in modern
technologies. Work in groups of 2–3 students
to prepare a presentation on jobs which are
possible or have been greatly influenced by the
development of the Internet.
3. An international organization promoting cultural
exchange is running a competition for students
from different countries. In a small group, make
a presentation of an ideal school which, in your
opinion, will attract students.

1. Your English teacher has asked you to work with
another student and prepare a brochure for an
imaginary shopping centre.
2. A culture magazine is running a competition
for its readers. To participate, you have to
cooperate with two other students and prepare
a presentation about Polish writers whose books
have been translated into different languages.
The winners will receive a yearly subscription to
the magazine and a book collection.
3. Your English teacher would like you to
prepare a project on disabled people and their
achievements. In a small group, choose and
present a few disabled people from your own

to send in descriptions of different kinds of
accommodation that exist in your country. The
most elaborate description will be published in
the magazine.
3. An English magazine about nature is running
a competition. To participate, you have to
cooperate with two other students and prepare
a diversified presentation of certain species of
animals and plants which are protected in your
countries.
