It can be beneficial in some cases:
 Speech to text recognition :
It is a software that allows the user to input data as audio and then the computer system convert that
audio into text which makes it easier for the user to communicate with the computer. It can be
beneficial for the user in many cases:
 The user can express himself without physically writing or typing the text
 If the user is engaged in an activity such that he/she cannot type at that moment then this
software comes in handy.
 It improves the speaking capability of the user

  It makes the user more friendly with the computer
 It is very efficient
Some disadvantages of using speech to text recognition can be that:
 Sometimes when there is noise in the background, it does not work properly and mix up some
words due to the distortion in audio
 The user has to speak very clearly so the computer recognize the speech and can convert it into
textual data
 The user has to pronounce the correct pronunciation of the words he/she is speaking so the
computer can actually understand all the syllables of the words.
With the advancement in technology, this software has improved a lot. It has now better text
recognition and has become more user friendly.
 Multitasking and accessibility:
Audio input in some cases helps the user in multitasking which can save the user a lot of time:
 For an instance, when a user is driving a car, he/she can manage all the phone calls or send a
voice message to their friends and family with the help of their voice.
 Audio input makes the communication more reliable and comfortable in comparison to texting
and chatting
 With the help of audio, it is easier to understand what the other person is trying to say.
 Audio input plays a major role in the field of gaming as the gamers constantly need the info
about the whereabouts of the enemy team which can be done via communication aka through
audio input
 It can help the user with time management
 The user can be in a call with someone while performing other activities like cooking,
meetings or driving etc.
Audio input is beneficial for us in many cases in which I mentioned only a few.
This is a very detailed topic which consist of a lot of content that can not be covered
in such a minor heading.
Audio input is also becoming more useful with the advancement in technology as now there are
audio detective sensors which can perform activities according to the instructions given to them. A
great example could be Alexa.
