Adverb Cloze Activity Answers

My younger sister Ally always wants to make chocolate cake! She regularly begs me to
bake with her so today I gave in.

Unfortunately, I was pouring flour when I accidentally dropped the flour bag. It
exploded everywhere and completely covered the tiles. Annoyingly, I had to clean it up
because Ally is too young.

Afterwards, Ally wanted to help. I am a kindly big sister so I gave her the eggs and told
her to gently crack them. She enthusiastically grabbed the eggs, smashed the shells
carelessly and made a mess! I knew that she hadn’t done it deliberately, but it was
annoying!

Normally, my dad would come here and help us but he had gone shopping. So,
reluctantly, I cleaned up the egg mess and carefully tidied up.

Finally, we finished preparing the cake and eagerly went to watch TV. We soon became
absorbed in a silly TV show.

Later, I began to notice something smelly. Ally and I stared at each other; it was the
cake!

We raced there and saw thick, black smoke

pouring out of the oven. This had never
happened before!

Because the cake was burnt, we

hungrily devoured something different:
chocolate spread on toast! What a day!
