Galapagos summary

Every year more than 150000 tourists come visit the islands in the west of South
America, called Galapagos Islands.
Before people used to stay on the cruise ships, but now they started to go the
islands that don’t provide enough food.
Increased competition made hotels cheaper than ever before, but the increasing
number of tourists is creating more rubbish. Also investors are thinking about
building on the islands outside the National Park, with the risk of destroying wildlife.
The cruise ships are strictly controlled to make sure that they don’t pollute, in fact
all boats must have a licence given by the authorities.
For every area a tour guide is required, and tourist can also do a range of activities.
