Narration Only (I): This is how our story begins. The day that the inhabitants of Mexico call the
Day of the Dead.
Narration only (me): On this magical and festive day, families arrive with offerings for the altars of
their loved ones. And on that particular Day of the Dead, Xibalbá and Catrina awaken after many
centuries.
-xhibalba: I don't want to continue ruling the kingdom of the forgotten, I really hate that place.
Darling, please, exchange kingdoms with me.
-catrina: hey!, you are there because of your deception, you asked for it with that bet.
Xibalbá (Mariangel): Anyway. Eehh it occurred to me. What do you think of another innocent
bet?
Catrina (me): do you think that another bet will extinguish the flames of my anger muy enojada,
mira a Xibalba aunque no es posible en titeres what exactly do you have in mind??
-xhibalba: look there, the classic human dilemma: two children, best friends.
-Maria: My father is exaggerating. How would I know that chickens didn't like bathing?
Xibalbá (Mariangel): I think we have our bet, which boy will marry her.
Narrador: Catrina chooses Manolo as her winner and Xibalba chooses Joaquin as his winner.
Returning to the children, Maria and Manolo had to leave, and Xibalba, seeing that Joaquin was
alone, took the opportunity to cheat.
-Xibalba en forma de viejo: what if we make an exchange? With this medal, no one can hurt you or
defeat you. But there is a cruel bandit who will not rest until he obtains it.
-Joaquin: ok. I accept. Wait, are you talking about jackal? …Where did he go?
Narrator: The days go by and Maria goes to Spain to train and become a young lady, but before
leaving she gives Manolo a new guitar, since his was broken because of her. Years later, the day
Maria returns to San Angel and Joaquin returns from his adventures as a town hero, just the day
Manolo's first shooting takes place.
Narrator: That same night Maria's father organizes a dinner for her return.
-Maria: How good it is to see each other again, Joaquín. look at that mustache and all those
medals.
-Maria: I loved being there, there was beautiful music and art and books, it was wonderful.
-joaquin: it seems that you have learned a lot, Maria. one day you will make a man very very
happy.
-Maria: Really?
-Maria: Yes... and I'm going to cook for him and wash his clothes and fulfill his whims...
-Maria: Are you kidding me!? Is this how you see women? Are we just here to make men happy?
-Maria: I think I lost my appetite. Please, don't get up. if you'll excuse me I have to go check on
Chui, he's my pig, I have to spend time with someone... Civilized, good night.
Narrador: Meanwhile manolo with the mariachis. *para crear tiempo mientras se cambia la escena
:D*
-manolo: it's over, Joaquín will take her away from me.
-mariachi: what you have to do is play the right song and everything will be fixed and I have the
perfect song: ♪oh baby you♪
le cae algo
-manolo: I'm going to try... ♪I love you and more than you can imagine...♪
Narrador: After singing manolo tries to kiss maria and when maria pulls him apart.
-Maria: Did you think it would be so easy? …Oh, Manolo. hahaha I'm coming down
Narrator: María goes down to return Manolo's guitar and sees Joaquín kneeling.
-Maria: What?
Joaquín: You don't have to worry. I already talked to your father and he said yes.
Manolo aparece, observa lo que esta pasando y empieza una pelea con Joaquin por María.
-manolo: me too?!?!?
Narrador: At that moment, Maria stops them, gets angry with both of them and returns to her
room. Once in her room, Manolo calls her from the balcony and asks Maria to meet him at dawn
at the entrance of the village. Already, in that place, Manolo kneeling tells her.
-Manolo: I can't give you a ring. I have nothing to give except my love, but I swear to you, with all
my heart, that I will never stop loving you.
-Maria: Ayyy, Manolo, and I will never stop loving you too. I will not stop loving the one who plays
with the heart.
Narrador: Xibalba, seeing that he was at risk of losing the bet, sends them a two-headed snake,
which when you receive a bite you faint and when you receive two bites you die.
-Maria: Be careful, Manolo! There is a snake!! *se hace mímica de que Maria recibe una sola
picadura de la serpiente, como? No se, pero hay que ver como lo hacemos porque es importante
hacer ver eso*.
-Xhibalba: done.
Narrator: Being bitten twice by the snake, Manolo dies and arrives in the world of the
remembered where he meets his family to help him look for Maria. Together they go to where
Catrina is, but when they arrive they meet Xhibalba who explains to them that Catrina was in the
world of the forgotten because she lost the bet because Maria was going to marry Joaquin to save
the town and Manolo had died. It is then that Manolo realizes that Xhibalba had cheated so he
decides to go and look for Catrina. He overcomes the challenges and with the help of the wax man
they manage to reach Catrina safely.
-catrina: Manolo? Carmen And Luis's head? How did you get here?
-Catrina: xhiiiibaaaaalbaaaaa!!!
Carmen (mamá de manolo): can you help me up? *hablando a catrina* *procede a meterles
cuatro mil cachetadas a xibalba* thanks *a catrina*.
-manolo: what do you think of a bet? If I win they give me my life back.
-catrina: if you win xhibalba you will rule the two kingdoms.
Manolo (Dani): you set the rules, whatever you want, and I will beat them.
Manolo (Dani): What? Are you afraid of losing or what? So, shall we close the deal?
Xibalba (Mari): done deal. Now, tell me, brat, what wakes you up at night? What does it owe you
inside? What, tell me, is your greatest fear?
Narrator: xhibalba snaps his fingers and they appear in an arena with many bulls.
-Xhibalba: Manolo Sánchez, you have to defeat all the bulls that have been killed by your entire
family. All at once! If you fulfill it, you will live again; if you don't, you will be forgotten forever.
Narrador: Manolo bravely faces the bulls when, suddenly, all the bulls join together creating a
giant bull. Meanwhile, in the world of the living, Manolo's father dies confronting Chakal and
arrives in the world of the dead.
Manolo's father: What's going on?
Manolo: Papa
Manolo's father: Jackal and his men are at the entrance of San Angel.
Narrador: This was an impulse for Manolo. After this monolo continued fighting, but he realized
that it was impossible and he came up with a great idea. Manolo dropped the sword and took his
guitar and began to sing in search of forgiveness.
Narrador: The bull accepted it and turned into flower petals. With this Manolo wins the bet and is
brought back to life.
Narrator: Meanwhile, in the world of the living, in the city of San Angel.
-Maria: I know you're scared but do you know what I see? I see people ready to fight for their
people and within all of you there is a strength that cannot be measured. This Day of the Dead will
never be forgotten! We will show Jackal that he messed with the wrong people. Today we are not
going to fall! Not today! Not ever!
-joaquin: jackal, why don't you mess with someone your size?
-jackal: Hey, little soldier. you're going to give me that medal. now!
Narrator: at that moment, Manolo appears crossing the floor and takes the medal from jackal
-Maria: No retreat.
Narrator: Then they started to fight against Jackal with the help of the Sánchez family who,
although they were dead, thanks to Catrina and Xhibalba, and since it was the day of the
dead, they were able to come from the dead and help him. In the fight, the medal was lost and the
jackal grabbed María like a hostage.
-Maria: men
-manolo: Joaquín, you look for the medal and I look for María.
Narrator: After Manolo saved María, Jackal got stuck in some rubble of a tower that was
destroyed, so Jackal set off some bombs trying to destroy the entire town. To prevent this, Manolo
and Joaquín plan to make the bell fall on Jackal to stop him. thus stopping the explosion. Then, at
the moment they were going to remove the last column that supported the bell, Manolo pushed
Joaquín.
-María: nooooo!!!
-Maria: Manolo?
-manolo: you gave me the medal, you were willing to sacrifice yourself for me.
-joaquin: I had not seen so well, now let's make our own shadows.
-Maria: I accept.
-priest: Now, we declare you husband and wife. You can kiss... the groom?
Narrator: then, Joaquín learned that to be a hero you must not be selfish, and the world kept
turning and the stories continued, and new life was born and people died, but were never
forgotten and the only truth we know was confirmed once again, that love, the true love, good,
sweet and tender love never diez.
