The survey has 16 parts, each representing different aspects of the benchmarked maintenance organisaton
criteria. The best score possible for this survey is 640 points. Over the past several years, more than 200
companies have participated in the survey through a university-sponsored series of courses, using it to measure
themselves against the established criteria.
Two databases; one from the University-Sponsored Series of Studies and the other from the ReliabilityWeb
(www.reliabilityweb.com) are used to compare how organised our maintenance function is.
As a starting point in our Continuous Improvement efforts, it is hope that from this survey and comparisions, we
can gain a complete picture of the effectiveness of our maintenance/asset management functions and direct
improvement efforts to where it will matter the most.
