SCDB – Overview
What is SCDB?
Supplier Contact Database (SCDB) is the GM Global Purchasing & Supply Chain (GPSC) application that serves as a central
repository for Tier 1 supplier contacts at Ultimate, Manufacturing and Shipping DUNs locations.

Why is it needed?
This application is a key tool used by the GPSC organization to communicate timely information, including:

Supplier Communication Areas

Supplier Business Meetings Third Party Information Strategic Supplier Engagement
(SBM) Security Requirements (TPISR) (SSE)
Supplier of the Year (SOY) Supply Chain Visibility Surveys Crisis Mitigation

Suppliers are responsible for maintaining their contacts and will be asked to review and attest to the contact information
every 180 days.

Who can I contact for questions about the application?

Email gmscdb@gm.com and include a screenshot of your issue.

3
Maintaining Contacts
Who is responsible for maintaining the supplier contacts?
Suppliers are responsible for maintaining their company’s contact information. GM users cannot update this
information.
How often should I update my contacts?
At a minimum, suppliers must enter the application to review and confirm their contact information every 180 days.
Also, anytime there is a change in a contact, the supplier should update it in SCDB. This ensures that we have accessible
and accurate information whenever needed.
How do I know it’s time to audit / review my contacts?
Twice a month the SCDB system will notify suppliers that are within 30 days of their Next Audit Due date. The
notification includes a list of all DUNS that require auditing.
Who receives audit reminders?
These emails are sent to the supplier’s Lead Contact to GM, Plant Manager(s) and to the Last Audit By person. If this
information is unavailable, the SupplyPower / Covisint Security Administrator will be emailed.

Guidelines on Updating Contacts
Guidelines and Tips
• Provide the most applicable person for each contact type, even if their title differs. If no one fills this role, enter “none” in the text fields
and 0’s for the phone number
• You may enter the same person in numerous contact types within a location, using the autofill drop down
• To type in the First Name, you must double-click in the field
• Only one phone number (work or cell) is required per contact, the other is optional and can be blank
• If you can only see a few contact types within your DUNs location, you may need to correct your computer’s display settings
 Adjust your scale and layout (Windows Settings – Display) to 100%, the missing contacts should be viewable
 Alternately, you can place your cursor on the right-side bar in the contacts and scroll down
• You are NOT able to update your address or information in your company profile. GM receives this information from Dun & Bradstreet
(D&B). If a change is needed, contact D&B and your buyer. The updated information will flow to GM systems, including SCDB

 If a location is listed that has no active business with GM, contact your Buyer so that your contract can be updated. Also, email
gmscdb@gm.com, so the DUNS can be noted as inactive in SCDB
 If a location is listed that is no longer part of your organization, contact Supplier Maintenance at
gmsupplier.maintenance@gm.com. Provide them with the impacted DUNs and the contact info (name, email, and phone
number) of the person at your company who can verify the legal hierarchy. Supplier Maintenance will initiate an investigation
with D&B. It can take 4-8 weeks to complete the investigation and update our systems
